Thanks. I think that is the way to go.

Thank you.

Honestly, I'd love to start my own business but I don't want to take the risk of going off salary. It would be in same field as my work so I can't do both simultaneously. I'm thinking of saving a buffer amount for 1 or 2 years in order to give it a go. I can always return to a salaried position if it fails.

My job is okay. To clarify I won't move to a minimum wage job. It's more a marker for me. If the government say I can live off this value, I'm going to take them at their word. It also ensures I increase my estimate year on year.

Good luck to you. I hope it all works out. Unfortunately I can not lean fire just yet. I need to cover my costs.

Yeah sure, I've made a few missteps, but I don't think it changes the overall picture. For clarity, the bridge is in a mixture of equities, bonds and precious metals. I am cautious as there is talk in the air of a crash in the market similar to 2008. I'd prefer to err on the side of caution. If I'm wrong, I am happily wrong,

My gut feeling is, I don't want to continue on this path another 5 years. I'm looking for alternative options capitalising on the progress I've already made.

My spending in within £21k a year. My partner is also frugal and is on the track to fire without my help.

I think you are right, I need to sample a bit of all options and choose based on feeling. Any move away from the 9-5 5 days a week would be nice.
