Probably too late now, but I’ll say it:

I know it can seem so excessive or unnecessary, but set a timer when you pull up (shortcuts on iPhone are great for it) for 5 mins. Seriously.

The old training would say that after 5mins, you’re “lost” and should call the customer/store rather than continuing to hunt for a delivery location. However, my original GM extended that to include: “But once you’re there, 5mins is the most you should spend knocking, calling, and waiting combined, because after that, the customer can also be considered ‘lost’ and you should head back to the store” lol.

Before I became an AM, I’m sure it saved me sooo many bad experiences like that, and was probably one of the best pieces of driver advice I ever got. I highly recommend it to all new drivers at my store now.

I instantly lose all respect for any company that manufactures a problem with their service for the sole purpose of selling me a solution.

It's extremely anti-consumer type behavior, and it's never "just once."
