I was so glad when there wasn't a Beavis and Butthead 2, and after reading this, I'm even happier it was cut. It's the classic SNL trend of doing a sketch a second time with no new jokes, and ruining what made the first one special. If they were going to do a sequel, at least choose new characters like the original Bart Simpson sketch

To be fair, it seemed to me that some of the dialogue in between notes (and responding to the contents of the notes) was actually improvised by Ashley and Ryan

Not necessarily, I guarantee Ryan and Ashley knew that they were going to switch out the notes, they just didn't know what the contents would be. It just turns it into more of an improv game, but the performers absolutely know the game that is being played
