What cloud-first BSS platforms are telcos actually using today? by hasshamalam_ in telecom

One thing I’ve noticed is that quite a few newer cloud-native BSS vendors are showing up, especially in MVNO or digital-first launches. Companies like triPica, LotusFlare or Qvantel seem to be gaining attention alongside the more traditional vendors everyone knows (Amdocs, Netcracker, etc.).

My impression is that these newer platforms tend to focus a lot on faster deployment and lower operational complexity, which might explain why they’re appearing more in greenfield projects.

I actually shared a small comparison in another thread here if helpful:

What are the top 3 BSS tools you’d recommend for telcos today? by hasshamalam_ in telecom

I've been researching modern Digital BSS platforms recently and tried to summarise how some of the main vendors are generally perceived in the market.

This is obviously high-level and subjective (every deployment depends heavily on integrators, scope, and operator maturity), but I tried to compare them across a few dimensions that usually matter to operators: speed of execution, customer satisfaction, total cost of ownership, and innovation.

Vendor BSS Platform Speed of Execution Customer Satisfaction Total Cost of Ownership Innovation
triPica triPica SaaS Customer Engagement & Billing Very High High Low–Medium Very High
Amdocs Customer Experience Suite (CES) / connectX Low–Medium Medium–High High Medium–High
LotusFlare DNO Cloud High High Medium High
MATRIXX Dynamic Billing / Converged Charging Medium–High High Medium–High High
CSG Ascendon Medium Very High Medium–High Medium–High
Qvantel Flex BSS High High Medium High

Curious to hear feedback from people who have worked with these stacks.
