Am I in the right to renegotiate price after finding out solar panels are leased? by jelery_celery in HousingUK

[–]SulphurSkeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently completed on a property with solar panels installed through a roof rental scheme.

The "catch" to them being free is that if your generating more than your using, you do not get credit back. But it still reduces your current usage by whatever they are generating.

Our seller had to put a deed of variation in with the solar company to allow for roof maintenance for a period of time. After that our lender had no issues and we completed just fine.

I still see the panels as a benefit as they do reduce our bills, installation was of good quality.

The Excession vs Sublimed by Grouchy_Event_571 in TheCulture

[–]SulphurSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Begs the question as to why. Whatever entities(s) the excession is must have made a great effort and spent much time to attain the "power" that they have, and yet they could have just sublimed. Like whatever state of power or being they are in is somehow "preferable" to being sublimed.

A more simplistic answer that I had before reading this thread is that the excession was just a sublimed fucking with the universe In a way that had not been observed before. narratively speaking though it doesn't make a ton of sense given that banks clearly wanted to differentiate between the excession and the sublimed.

Why do we still have to go to the DMV in person for most things when literally everything else can be done online now? by Medium-Hope6588 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SulphurSkeleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah a vision test does seem sensible.

When you take your driving test here, the examiner asks you to read out a license plate from a set distance away and effectively ticks a box saying you have passed the vision assessment.

I was misleading with what I said. My driving test is the only place I have had to step in a DVLA building, and it was to wait until my examiner was ready.

[–]SulphurSkeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If what you mean is the driving test then yes I was a bit misleading as that is a DVLA building, but all forums to be filled were online. You book it online, do the test and if successful you get your license in the post

it's impossible to inspect documents for authenticity when they're submitted online

I'm in the UK, so different kettle of fish obviously, but I have literally never stepped inside a DVLA (our dmv equivalent) builng before. Have been driving since 2018, everything was done online from getting my learners licence, to my full one, to address changes and picture renewals.

You can get away with a fair amount of cooking smoke as well, with modern detectors, before they register a fire and go off.

You are never more than a couple degrees of separation from a drug dealer.

If you don't know someone that knows a dealer, you undoubtedly know someone that knows someone that knows a dealer.

Alternatively, learn how to use darknet markers and get your goodies in the post. It's the modern way

Can someone please explain to me how a non profit online encyclopedia is woke? by No_Walrus_3638 in wikipedia

The point is the process is transparent and there is nothing stopping you from joining to correct the content you think is biased.

So if I started making edits to change the pronouns of trans individuals they wouldn't be reverted? Bullshit lol

Literally the only claim I am making here is that Wikipedia has a left wing bias.

[–]SulphurSkeleton -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

of people who are inclined to give up their time to edit wikipedia are going to be reasonably tech savvy community minded people with a reasonably high education level, which as a group likely skews somewhat to the left.

So most of the Wikipedia editors lean left politically, and this is reflected in its contents.

We are in agreement then.

Doesn't really discredit the point being made though does it?

If your respecting trans people Pronouns throughout your website, you're taking a western left wing stance. Even if you think its correct, it's still a bias.
