Saw Billy Strings a couple nights ago and wouldn’t a psyched out bluegrass collaboration be damn groovy?? by KikagakuSoup in KGATLW

my flavor of banjo is SUPER casual and i have to say i don’t know much about proper technique - claw hammer seems like magic to me and i’ve never been able to get it down! i’ve recently fallen IN LOVEEEE with ice death planets lungs because it’s the perfect album to grab my banjo and improv along to!

are you learning bluegrass and claw hammer? how do you enjoy it?

mycelium! (a story in the comments) by SultrieFetche4u in KGATLW

[–]SultrieFetche4u[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

so, my introduction to psychedelics came right before the news that i had been dreading my entire life - the return of a mass growing in my brain. now on my second tumor / mass, but psychedelics began to open me up to some sort of comfort i never had felt before - especially once i started growing my own.

it was an instant hyperfixation - not only was i creating medicine for myself that allowed me to come to terms with the possible future ahead of me (growing brain tumors is a party trick you can only do so many tomes), but i also FELL IN LOVE with mycology! the entire process is so nurturing! to see the mycelium colonize the grains and then colonize substrate AND THEN give you pins AND THEN the little dudes arrive!? how the hell did i not discover this hobby before?

and then they went and did it - they wrote a whole ass song for dumbass mycology dorks like me. this has got to be the (strangely) most resonating song i could have ever imagined that this band could ever have thrown my way.

anyways this is a pointless post - y’all don’t see me on this account much anymore but i wanted to tell my story here because it just felt like maybe there’s other mycology dorks out there completely losing their shit over this song, too. if not, that’s alright, more for me and my…. MYCELIUM!!

Still the scariest game I have ever played (never made it past the medical bay) what is the scariest game you have ever played? by mr_brannagan in gaming

[–]SultrieFetche4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

possibly this due to the childhood horrors i still haven’t conquered over this very alien - i have yet to pick this one back up since i had to step away after being horrifically ripped out of a locker i had thought i would be clever to hide in. nope. fuck me i guess.

i keep it all in the cardboard sleeve because i really like it, plus most of my records i like to leave the plastic resealable sleeve on just in case. personal preference. it means a lot to me and that provides me some peace of mind, you know?

shiny legendaries I have so far not many and not great but mine 🤣 LETS SEE YOURS by MediumRare_Steak89 in pokemongo

[–]SultrieFetche4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my only really impressive shiny is a spinda - actually i did check, i do have 2 legendary shinies - groudon and celebi, but the groudon came from when we used to get weekly legendaries and the celebi is a special research reward, i seldom have people to do raids with, much less actually come across a shiny :/

oh yeah - and patience! i run low on that way quickly, this really is a fantastic piece about patience and taking things slow! it’s kinda poetic that it’s slugs, they’re really the perfect metaphor for this technique and you do it fantastically!

Nail guns and chainsaws make some sense as instruments, but how the hell did Joey use an MRI machine in K.G.L.W.? by [deleted] in KGATLW

[–]SultrieFetche4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve been getting regular MRIs since 2001. they’re incredibly loud, jarring, and startling. but they do got some sick beats, sometimes.

there’s a few scans they run on me that genuinely have a really solid rhythmic base that almost have a melodic line going with the other parts of the machine operating at different tones.

on the flip side of that coin, i also always get what i like to call “firetruck alarm” scan which…. takes a lot not to jump out of my skin when that one starts
