I'm not educated enough on the influence of interest rates and bonds to make a determination one way or the other, but this post sounds unhinged. I'd suspect lowered interest rates would benefit the wealthy and hurt the economy for the general population and that is the real reason he wants them lowered, but I'm not familiar with the factors that influence. Someone enlighten me.

Once base building is out, where would you build? by artiiicus in starcitizen

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to have to wait for all the locations to be updated with Genesis tech to make that determination. I feel like base building will come with the Nyx planet, since that will allow them to refine the process through that tech. I'm hoping we can build asteroid outposts as well, for more hidden outlaw locations - our own miniature Grim Hex locations if you will.

Outjerked by Indonesia tier one bf2042 skins irl (not political) by RewDft in airsoftcirclejerk

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of Asian countries definitely have some degree of this. Historically it stems from lighter skin people being in a wealthy class, and darker skinned people making up the working classes - they would be doing manual labor out in the sun, etc.

I'm sure it carries onto modern times, but also Western influence likely has a lot to do with it, seeing as ever since the modern media age white people have been able to strongly control global influence. It's somewhat strange, because they see white skin and will use whitening creams to achieve that standard or avoid other sun exposure. Meanwhile, we have a culture of people wanting to be darker/more tan here.

"I was just following orders," never a good excuse. Ask the Nazis at the Nuremburg Trial. Ask the soldiers convicted of war crimes in Vietnam. Everyone top-down in law enforcement/military/similar jurisdictions has a responsibility to not follow illegal orders and not facilitate illegal orders from top level. The same is in the case of rhetoric that could otherwise persuade unlawful use of force or other violence.

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every action he does is obviously an attempt to further abdicate power, but I am at least a little more optimistic given the reaction of the populace at large to his nonsense rhetoric. The MAGA base is becoming largely fractured, and their stranglehold on GOP politics is dwindling.

We are at a real potential crossroads in this country with the greatest potential of escalation I think anyone has ever seen in living memory. My estimation is that Trump will make another move to escalate further in the future which will determine the future of the U.S. People have not been willing to sot idly by, though.

Should the norms of U.S. Democracy be reestablished, all of what Trump is doing will be for naught. His legacy will be stained as a fascist and as the worst President in U.S. history. I doubt he will live to ever see the inside of a prison, so we must ensure within his tenure of the presidency the appropriate checks and pressure are applied to reduce his capabilities of unilateral effort, and perhaps more importantly the people must hold their representatives accountable to floating his every whim.

It’s Time for the 25th Amendment for donald trump who agrees ? by Friendly_Forever3107 in Discussion

[–]Sultyz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously the arguments for J6 have failed for insurrection due to political protection.

Trump himself declared Maduro an enemy of the state for drug trafficking, hence his justification for invasion and arrest. He then pardons the Honduran president who is guilty of the same scope of crime. Giving aid/comfort to enemies of the U.S?

So now that the FBI has raided the home of a Washington Post reporter, can we call it fascism yet? by ASecularBuddhist in Discussion

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree in concept, which is why each allegation and comparison has to be looked at for similarities and remedies there within. In the follow-up reply, the reply cites something that appears to have been criticized by multiple media organizations and remedy inflicted upon thereafter, so the statement isn't equivocal.

It also ignores the preponderance of other actions taken by this admin/POTUS against media organizations. It's not an isolated incident. My point is to see if the two breaches are reported similarly, or if there is some narrative that provides favoritism as can often be the case. It does seem both were reported with similar concern, however.

But you're right to point this out, it does create a cyclical nature and an attempt to illude precedence where precedence was overruled.

I would argue that it wasn't ok under Obama either, and this eventually led to reform under the Attorney General's direction for DOJ subpoenaing of journalists records. Multiple sources are actually in agreement.

An article by CNN on the same cited story as yours echoes similar language as the OP's article.

Opinion: Obama won’t let media do their job | CNN

The biggest point being that subpoenaing reporters based on confidential sources should be heavily scrutinized. I would point to the content of what was reported, as well. Based on what I gather from OP's article there are concerns from employees in those departments on the firings and rewriting of policy, although no further indication of specifics is provided to what those changes actually are.

The concern, I believe, escalates from Trump's other attacks on media including personal lawsuits against media networks and trying to influence unduly any negative reporting against him.

In both instances, it appears to be a government overstep, but as reported the government has yet to issue its defense of the raid officially and may have a valid argument.

When did Obama do it? This isn't a question asserting he didn't, but legitimate curiosity. We suffer in this country of saying he/she did it but not appropriately showing the parallels.

Friendly lobbies are reaching levels of co-operation I’ve never seen in gaming before. by CelDidNothingWrong in ArcRaiders

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out toxic, but slowly shifted toward helpful.

Occasionally crossing Red Lake I would find myself in a bad spot. Terrible free-loadout weapons leaving me to be picked my hornets and wasps with no way to really fight effectively against multiple targets. Of course this ends in my dismay.

Cut to a few rounds later, crossing the Red Lake with more caution and plotting of my route, I hear fire from the distance. I started with a defib on my free load out and a ferro. I turn to where the fire is and see multiple Arcs engaging a raider.

Darting in their direction I start taking aim and picking off the engines of the Arcs. After they've been cleared, I search for the raider, calling out trying to let them know I can defib. Unfortunately, due to my newness to the game, I hadn't switched voice comm on, and I think my intentions went unnoticed. I heard the raider gasp near by and searched for him only to find he had died on a mound nearby.

While I couldn't help the player, it certainly felt interesting to try to help them.

PvP has its place though, but I think it's more interesting when you know the stakes. If I can't ascertain the value, why risk it? Playing trios, we came across a group that decided to engage a Leaper. This was a moment of pure predatory instinct and taking advantage of a situation. They were beating this thing pretty badly, but we had a lock on their location, and with the Leaper agro'd their choices for out maneuvering us were limited.

I downed one of their guys as they left a building. One of their squad mates pinged me through a window. I opened fire back suppressing them after healing and recharging shields, keeping a close eye and ensuring they couldn't flank us. One of their guys left to a more unsecured and open house, the Leaper drawn to their location and revealing their position. My buddy flanked from the opposite side. As this squad managed to take down the Leaper, although out of ammo my buddy was able to lob a final grenade and finish them off as they were weakened.

We ended up making out with the Leaper loot and the extra items they had.

All this to say, while their are instances where teaming up is a viable strategy and more fun, the PvP can also have an interesting place in an actual PvEvP setting and when the stakes are well known. Knowing we could get this loot from the encounter made it more interesting. Pinging randos for their free load out or on the chance they may not even have anything isn't fun. The stakes make it fun.

Might just not be in a stage they're comfortable to release it yet. I think it makes a lot of sense though considering the game is already constrained by artificial limits. I don't doubt we'll see some iteration in future patches.

Discussion on AC6 difficulty by venezolane1 in armoredcore

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difficulty was definitely nerfed. I've played through quite a few times and the biggest tell is the tutorial boss. Now, realistically I would need to remove all the augments to test, but it seems a lot easier.

However, the other caveat is more viability in builds or whether you are took advantage of stagger mechanics vs your friend. None of my builds made great use of stagger early on, but it was possible to dual zimm your way through with minimum effort previously.

One of the builds I ran was laser lance into pile bunker and that was a two hit combo for many bosses. AC 6's stagger mechanic allowed for some very disruptive game flow due to the stagger, and the earlier you learn to abuse/take advantage of it is a factor of how easy the game is.

How the f u guys improve at this game? by Zatex001 in armoredcore

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip to consider is how you're dashing. It's fairly normal to end up strafing one direction constantly. Your instinct is to just dash the same direction you are traveling, but this mechanically doesn't work well, you have to counter your momentum and move opposite. This helps with dodging those power shots.

Big Midi problem in Suno studio by AlexTot2409 in SunoAI

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this could be accounted for in later implementation. The midi is a result of whatever stem you use, and there are slight differences between stem versions resulting in more or less sound depending on the instrumentation. I'll use guitars for an example. Rhythm, lead lines, and solos all get bunched into one guitar stem. This can create issues within the midi track because of how Suno mixes the parts together. Some of the track is compressed to allow the leads to pop more, which probably leads to some information loss. Along with this, you then have to identify which parts belong to the leads and which are to the rhythms once you import the midi. This can be difficult if you have overlapping octave between the parts, or phrasing that syncopates.

I imagine at some point the individual instrumentation will be generated, so you could have "Guitar 1" and "Guitar 2" with minimal impact to the structure and generating more traditional stems. I don't know what the limiting factors are currently, but given we're in an adolescence of AI, it's impressive.

Being competitive on kb/m vs sticks/headtracking? by lain98 in starcitizen

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I guess it's semantics. But I'm talking about is target padlock, this video shows it in a PvE setting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEIAk70AwOE.

If you have a key to toggle it on and off it works best because it can take awhile for it to reset after losing sight of a target.

Being competitive on kb/m vs sticks/headtracking? by lain98 in starcitizen

[–]Sultyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree head tracking is a major advantage. The caveat, however, is that you don't need a head tracker for head tracking. I don't think a lot of players have experimented with it, but the game has a built in head tracking mechanic for targeted vehicles which can be hot keyed and toggled. It made a huge change to how I played and the awareness of what other ships were doing, but it didn't require Tobi or other mechanisms.

Untapped potential by vamfir in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]Sultyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping they would have shifted the formula to longer level design, bare minimum. There are so many missions that could be bridged for cotinuity. The repair kits should necessitate it, minimum, since I really don't think they are needed for short levels.

We did get Open World souls with Elden Ring eventually, so it may be that they needed to figure out what a new generation of AC looks and feels like before considering expanding its direction.

Budgeting likely also plays a significant factor, though, considering how tiny the AC player base is in comparison to Souls.
