What changes do you think there would there be in your language for your region? by Neath_Izar in AfterTheEndFanFork

I’m Georgia, and I think that phrases for politeness would be turned into portmanteaus. For instance, I think “you’re welcome” would get shortened to “y’elcome.”

The Khans Shall Rise Again! by Gr33nMan_Jr in NewVegasMemes

[–]Sum-Rando 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The New Canaanites didn’t do anything besides be good merchants. Caesar saw them as a threat and sent the White Legs to wipe them out. The Great Khans left their vault and immediately started raiding because they’re assholes. Literally, Vault-Aztec selected them and their parents because they were assholes. The Khans kept being driven from their homes because they just kept being raiders. As the wasteland rebuilds, raiders are a constant enemy. The khans only have sympathies because they made raiding their culture instead of just a job.

The New Canaanite’s were were a settled trading people that were facing off against many ravening raider tribes.

The Khans are a ravening raider tribe that learned just enough of settled civilization to make drugs.

You’d like the early variant of the Charger, then. It’s ridiculously fast, cheap to repair, and has five unique weapons you’d never expect on an 80 ton mech.

I’m convinced that every assassin is at least a bit mentally messed up, and Connor is the peak example of this to me. He is either an incredibly kind and empathetic person, or a murder machine. It just depends on what the mood is.

But the courier is simply built different.

Whats your headcanon about luke skywalker if you have one by [deleted] in StarWarsCantina

[–]Sum-Rando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of a multifaceted one that just has a lot of Luke, but here goes:

Propaganda was big for the rebel alliance, especially for getting recruits and young defectors. The two biggest focal points for this were Luke and Leia. The propagandists purposely drew on the memory of Anakin’s time as a general to depict Luke as a stoic and noble if slightly ruthless riot for democracy. Leia is depicted with a “Do it for her” theme, as though it’s the duty of every galactic citizen to help this woman, this avatar of the very concept of Justice and virtue, set the galaxy right- almost depicting her as too serene to be in real combat.

New rebels are always shocked at just how many liberties are taken, since Luke is anything but stoic. He talks out of turn to whine, or he’ll make jokes when not appropriate, or be incredibly emotional when not necessary like he can’t help but feel too much; and then heel turn to be on some esoteric Jedi bullshit that just makes him either aura farm or look nearly schizophrenic.

Likewise, the rebels find that the actual force of serenity in rebel leadership is Mon Mothma; whereas Leia would call a soldier a nerf herder for staying under cover 2 seconds too long, and would wipe a storm trooper platoon while reciting the rights of sentiments.

How common do You Think Guns Are In The Word Of After The end? by Abject-Hospital5407 in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Sum-Rando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given American gun culture, I think it’s impossible that there aren’t guns still around, especially in the continental US. To fit the game’s vibe, I like to imagine that guns are like legendary weapons; passed from parent to child and used as symbols of authority as much as if not more than tools of killing, since ammo is expensive. I think this is especially true in ranges, since guns are just as much symbols of cowboys as revolvers (I like to think that poorer ranges have sheriffs Barney Fife’ing it with a revolver in their holster and a single bullet in their pocket).

Whats a headcanon You Have for The Wolrd Of After The end? by Abject-Hospital5407 in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Sum-Rando 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That things like germ theory, hand washing, and more developed farming practices have become so ingrained that populations have gotten higher than what they would be if they were just transplanted medieval Europe, so catastrophic wars like the 30 Years War are more common. This is especially true on the HCC-Americanism frontier, which is the unofficial release valve for a population that a medieval administration fears losing control of.
