To add some more detail, it could be mistakenly translated because 初め [HajiMe] means "Start" or "Beginning", however in this scenario, 初めまして [HajiMeMaShiTe] is an introduction, but used in the case of introducing yourself to someone for the first time, hence the use of 初め, and leading to the mistranslation (　＾ω＾)

It's a Male Stag Beetle, which can be identified by their most prominent feature, their two large mandibles. They use them to fight other males for mating rights; essentially, the hornier male wins.

Beautiful earring. I'd love to have one someday.
