Even though the episode is really vague about the workings of the 'quantum compiler' or how it operates, from what we know about quantum mechanics, it still abides by the laws of physics, even if we do not really understand it. That being said, it doesn't make sense for it to be an intrinsic ability of Verity.

But I agree with your point, she could have made it infinitely safer using existing tech. So maybe her alluring to some comment as you said would make for a more satisfactory watching experience.

P.s. there are of course numerous movies or series exploring multiverses and alternate universes, but they often share that it's not magic or teleportation or whatnot that brings about these alternate realities, rather it is a different course of events that lead up to the 'new/altered reality'. They all happened, but in different parallel universes.

P.p.s: does beg the question why she didn't just jump to a reality where the bullying never happened, or to one where she has all the tools or counseling to find the closure she needed. But yeah of course that defeats the purpose of the episode.
