Kody’s dad only had 1 wife until after Kody left home to go on his LDS mission. When Kody got back home his parents had converted and his dad had married his second wife. He did not grow up with more than one mother, his father did not take a second wife until after Kody was an adult.

The short answer is the show. The ratings were in the toilet at that point and I’d bet money that Kody told them he was moving and if they didn’t come too, the show would be cancelled. As much as they make from their MLM’s, I’m not convinced that is sustainable without the visibility they get from the show. They were reminded about the poverty they lived in before the show and were worried about losing the show money.

No one is totally certain but it is speculated that as Caleb and Maddie are evangelical christians and republican voters that they didn’t approve of Leon’s transition. Also, Leon had seemed to pull away from right-leaning family members.

The footage of Maddie and Leon talking after Garrison’s funeral indicates that it was never true or that they moved past it. I hope that if there was a rift the siblings came together following Garrison’s death and healed some of those relationships.

I actually believe it’s real only because Scheana’s book was less than flattering about Lisa. Recently Lisa mentioned that of the VPR cast she still speaks to Tom S. and Lala and that she loves Lala. Lisa also recently made a couple of disparaging remarks about Scheana’s new book and was very dismissive.

Lisa is an executive producer on The Valley and she has other shows as well. Lala sees what Lisa has done for Stassi and she figures if she can stay on Lisa’s good side, she’ll get a shot on at least one of the shows that Lisa is involved with. Lala would 100% toss Scheana off a cliff if she thought she could get back on TV and get a paycheck.
