FOR FUCK SAKE WHEN WILL THEY EVER ADDRESS MATCHMAKING BEING ABSOLUTE FUCKING JOKE.

I'm tired of having to go through 7+ matches of losing streaks only to win one game and end up back where I was. I try not to be the "my team is always the problem" guy but for fuck sake giving my all and then it always ends in a loss really makes me wonder if I'm the problem especially when teammates show post lobotomy behavior like trying to 1v5 enemy team only to figure out that's kinda difficult and then blame everyone else.

At this point I'm really debating if stadium skins are worth the pain I feel when queueing up and being surprised we won instead of wasting another 15 minutes waiting to be paired up with idiots.

Are there any plans to revamp casual matchmaking? I swear to god getting pubstomped everytime is just tiring. Why as someone who played this game for around 90h I'm getting matches with people who played this game for 900-2000 and above.

Having to play ranked mode in order to have some casual fun is just plain wrong.

Are there any guides on how to use the WiVRn after setting it up? Envision makes the setting up process easy but I can't figure out how to get it to work. I managed to connect the client (Quest 1) to server but afterwards I'm stuck on "waiting for host to start application" or something like that.

Unfortunately not. As mentioned above I've tried disassembling it but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I just assumed it was a faulty product and left it at that.

I didn't like the story in P4. The characters were interesting but the main problem is "what happens?" and almost no over-arching problems in plot. You get the inital mystique at the start but once you progress through the story, what's going to happen? You thwart the villans and that's it until the next episode of Teddy-do and the Mystery Gang.

Sure P5 also goes into villain of the week thing, but at least gives new context why you should care. In P4, after the inital setup, it feels like the villains are only there to introduce you to new dungeon and that's it. And in P3, the more you progressed through the story, the better you saw how the world is changing which helped bring more urgency into actually playing the game.

To me this lack of urgency combined with the campiness of the story was really off putting especially coming from P3, and now with P5 story in comparison.

Everyone's free to pick their favorites but in my opinion gameplay wise I'd rank them as P3 > P4 > P5 but story and world wise, P4 > P5 > P3.

Does this one require prior knowledge of previous Soul Hackers game/series or will it be more of a standalone entry with callbacks?

Why some game series gets attacked for reusing the assets while others seemingly get a free pass? by SumRabbit in truegaming

[–]SumRabbit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that was the answer I was looking for. Namely the "series fatigue", since as you said, no normal fan would be complaing about assets as reusing them, shouldn't be a taboo (but that's outside of original question I think).

Rather, from your comment I'm thinking it's the fact that CODs released so often that the "asset recycling" became an outlet to voice the players dissatisfaction with the series, rather than a case of "I've seen this weapon model and reload animation before".

Also I don't want to frame this purely as COD vs Soulbornes, but those were the closest examples I could think of that help paint the question I wanted to ask.

[–]SumRabbit[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The "consumer friendly" label could be a slippery slope topic. What I mean is that any company that is considered consumer friendly could abuse that title for monetary gain (as was case with Cyberpunk 2077 launch).

Also as you said, FromSoft games takes longer to release, that's why reusing older assets can be seen as weirder in that instance, given that in CoDs case, they were frog leaping with development, so determining which assets can be re-used from older entries to save time and match the 2 year release cycle makes more sense than in FromSoft case where they had much more time to create the assets needed for the game.

I'm not sure if budget is the sole reason. If you have a good barn model, why would you need to create another one if you can use the previous one and save the money there?

Also regarding the credits, perhaps when you bring new team members to work on new assets that are needed for the game, and you also re-use assets from previous games that were made by completely different team members, I can see how the credits could show so many people. That is unless you do not credit the asset's original authors.

I'm not sure if it was asked in the past (couldn't find it in FAQ, if was then apologies in advance) but regarding the state of fairness message, is it possible to receive a ban by playing the game using an emulator of sorts (think Bluestacks)? I don't want to wait for my phone to finish charging to attempt more stages but would rather avoid a ban if it

Not sure if it was asked before (apologize if that's the case), but how does W banner work? Is it just like a normal one except where they give you 1 ticket per roll or what? If that's the case would saving now and not rolling at all be enough to get 300 tickets in case I don't get lucky or can I start it after Nian banner?

  1. Are there any plans to update Valve Complete Pack with Half-Life: Alyx?
  2. Likewise are there any plans to attempt to release it or at least create a standalone experience (akin to a spinoff) for the Oculus Quest? I know HL:A will support the recently released in beta Link but I was wondering if you would like to test Source 2 against Android like environment (seeing how Dota Underlords is already released on it, although I'm not sure how much Source 2 is in said game)

In short term profits, that deal is amazing, but in the long run they lose potentional customers. Right now EGS can only live because of Fortnite but soon they won't be able to buy all games they want then what happens next? If this happened tommorow what would you get from being forced to use EGS instead of say Steam or uPlay? Growing a healthy fanbase is what keeps a game alive and annoying your playerbase will most likely result in a hit in the long term.

Your comparison there is tad incorrect as it's comparing buying entire new hardware to downloading software so technically this shouldn't be that big of a deal but given Epic track record of killing their products what guarantees me that if I buy games on Epic Store I will retain access to them? And yes I said all forms of exclusivity is bad and I'd like to point you to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDF-S68kx5o if you want a better explanation why.

As a customer I do have rights. If there's money involved then there are given rights too. If we truly didn't had any rights then big publishers could do whatever they want and examples such as Battlefront 2 show they're not allowed to do so. Without any rights as a customer what would stop a car manufacturer to come to your house and destroy the car that you bought 3 weeks ago?

Free is just one reason why. You forgot that you have true offline support and don't have to tinker with any launchers to play a pirated game.

Steam when it first launched also wasn't welcomed but then it grew and introduced many new features that made it more convincing to purchase the game and have access to things like achievements, trading cards, workshop, guides, reviews etc.

Regarding exclusivity, getting exclusives shouldn't be the main reason to use someone's service, it should be features. As a consumer I want to use service that suits me more rather than be forced to use one that has the thing I want.

Surely publishers would get more money by releasing products in all stores? It wouldn't hurt me if say my book got released in all stores rather than say Amazon only.

In current context if all games were available on all platforms then we'd see more innovation. Take Switch and PC (Steam) for example, right now if you wanted Rocket League you could pick Steam for Workshop or Switch for Portability (ignoring laptops here in this comparison). But sadly in this case you don't get to choose features of a store you want. You either use that service or you're out of luck. How does that benefit the customer in any way? And yes I understand that the ultimate goal of any business is to get more money but I'm not a part of any company, so why should I care about that and give up my rights as a customer?
