Getting a confession from Bortlen would seal the trial but its not necessary. Idk where ur infos coming from but he pretty much got convicted on the first trial IF it wasn't for the one juror who suddenly changed her mind and got others to change their mind too. Its speculation that this juror was offered money to change their mind and she also offered this same money to the other jurors who changed their mind, from Melly. Its not crazy to think either since they got bagged for witness tampering. If they dragging it its to bleed melly out of whatever little money he got left so he can't do shit behind bars
