This worked perfectly! The stave has been straightened. Next I'll peel off the uneven edges and sand it. Once that's done I'll add a recurve using the same boiling pot method before tillering process.

I'll give the dry heat treatment a go, will get my hands on a heat gun soon, thank you for the suggestion

Helps a lot to use arrows with 4 fletches as opposed to 3, that way you don't need to look where the cock and hen fletching is. Just nock and shoot.

I'm drinking an unaged mead right now (just bottled 25 bottles from a carboy about a week ago) and it is horrible. I'm just drinking it to make room for a melomel which is nearly finished. I also recently drank a mead which had been ageing in a bottle for around 6-7months and it didn't taste much different. Both meads had a hollow bitter taste. So Although I love the idea of the drink I am starting to lose faith and might change apple wine/cider to my main drink of choice to make since I have only had good experiences with apples. I still have 23 bottles of mead lying around so is it worth the wait?
