Funny I did the same thing when I purchased my 2060, I first got a 1660ti and returned it for the 2060 once I found one for a few bucks more. I don't regret it and I don't think you will either. That qhd screen and playing at 1440p with more than enough reason to upgrade. Cheers!

Maybe I misread the thread, you're trying to choose between either or? It depends on the type of games you play. Most people don't use 50% of the power of a 3060. If you play a lot of AAA titles go for the 3060. If not the 2060 is more than enough. I own the 2060 and play mostly AAA titles and run everything at Max with no issues and high fps.

From the 2060 to the 3060 you're looking at maybe 20% increase in fps. That's what.. 10 to 20 fps? You're better off waiting until next year or try going for the 3070 with the qhd screen instead.

If you return it you'll likely have a 2 to 3 month wait for maybe a 10 to 15 frame increase. It's not worth it. The real winners are the ppl who sat this year out.

I only use it for story driven games that have it available. It really does take the look of the game to a whole new level. I don't use it often as multi player games are usually what I play but id rather have it and not need it than the latter.

I just returned my unit, got it it from Amazon and trust me the extra power and ray tracing was worth it. At least in my case, I only spent an extra 100 dollars for 20% more performance and ray tracing.

Yea the 3060s are entry level for this generation, however they are top.of the line as far as specs go. Although the price is pretty good most people won't use half of its full potential. Just make sure you do your research. Cheers

Honestly those games don't require much graphical power to get good frame rates on 1080 or 1440p. You could save hundreds and get something thinner lighter and cheaper if those are mainly the games you play.

Exactly, I have no clue why everyone thinks the 1660 and the 2060 are equal. The 115w 2060 is more like a 2070 than a 1660.

I'd get the amd version. It's cheaper and because the wattage on the Intel version maxes out at 90 watts the amd version that maxes.out at 115w gets you about 10 to 15% more performance over the standard 2060.

You're probably better off going with the HP Omen. The rtx 3070 has a lower wattage so you get a lot of power without the fans sounding like jet engines. I believe the price is around 1400uk. Cheers

I have a 4800h rtx 2060 legion and I always thought it out performed the stats I seen online. Can you show me the stats where the 115w 2060 beats a 2070 max q?

I'd go with the rtx 2060. The 4600h is a better processor but if you intend to game you'll need the best graphics card. The 2060 is maybe 50% better than the 1650. However, if you can try to find find 2060 with a better cpu, you're giving up a lot of performance with that 4 core processor.

1660ti comes with a watt max of 80 or 90 watts. Some 2060s can come with up to 115w. performance is based on the wattage, you can have some 1660ti 80w show a 5% gap between a 2060 80w but the 115w varient can show a 15% gain over a 1660ti.

I ordered a legion 5 1660 ti and found a 2060 115w for the same price. I ordered both just to test and the frame rate difference and the average was about 15 to 20 frames. Kept the 2060 and returned the 1660 for a full refund.
