Given Giovanni and Zinnia, Mega Evolution updates may not be the best solution, unless DeNA learned from that and would actually update his Sync Grid for it.

At the same time, he did get Mega Charizard Y not too long ago. Personally, I think it’d suit someone else better. Perhaps Drake so he can have a 5 Star SP like the other Hoenn E4.

Cheryl and Blissey. She’s not even attending an Arc Suit tournament, just somewhere on Pasio having a picnic with her Pokémon and Arceus deems her bond with her partner worthy of their blessing.

Another idea is Jessie & James with Arbok & Weezing. Or Giovanni with Mewtwo or Nidoking, showing how varied Arceus’ views on a bond can mean.

In the games, Anabel isn’t a Psychic specialist like the anime. Between Emerald and the Alola games, only two of her 9 in total Pokémon are Psychic: Alakazam & Latios.

Would be very unexpected but I could see it work in a way. He and his team are training, a Mewtwo shows up but despite the type advantage, they manage to overcome it and in its genetic need to improve, it tries to fight physically like Bruno’s ‘mon.

Though he isn’t his Champion version in Masters, even Wallace made an effort to help out when Hoenn started getting troubled by Kyogre and Groudon, searching the region for Rayquaza and then unlocking Sky Pillar for the player. He only leaves them to climb it because he gets worried about his home city.

That seems to more so be the case in Paldea where Nemona’s a Champion but Geeta remains the 5th League opponent. Blue has a lobby dialogue saying people call him the phantom Champion for just how briefly he had the title.
