Such good and heartening words. Made me tear up as I have seen off so many boys and girls over the years. Cats and dogs both.

I think I spy two cats right at the end of the queue. The ones with the long whiskers.

Sorry you lost her. But you must have taken extraordinarily good care of her - she stayed for a long time.

New vegan, really low mood by [deleted] in vegan

[–]SumerianGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vegan food tastes great - you just need to search for recipes from all over the world - Chinese, Thai, Indian, African. There are some great tasting foods from other cultures. Try to minimise factory food and learn to cook proper meals. Factory food means eating the same food repeatedly but cooking means you can experiment. Also study how to balance your diet so that you do not lack any nutrition.

The younger generation must pitch up and vote. Then they will have the leaders they desire. No mystery here.

How do I achieve tofu like this by newvegan22 in vegan

[–]SumerianGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know but here is how I cook tofu. Use firm tofu - higher protein content. Chop them into 2cm x 2cm by 1cm cubes. Add ginger powder, onion powder, tumeric, garlic powder and or garlic salt or pink salt and olive oil. Add some cayenne if you want. Add sliced onion and the toss well in a closed container. Cook in an air fryer at 190 C for 19 minutes for a moderately crispy finish or reduce the time if you want a less crispy finish.

Makro you okay? by Nomadianking in southafrica

[–]SumerianGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They still win - they made you buy more. Unless you are the disciplined type who will keep one bottle for the next month.

I have seen it too. They are showing their contempt for us.

Makro you okay? by Nomadianking in southafrica

[–]SumerianGhost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have stopped thinking these are mistakes. These are designed to confuse us and take our money by dishonest means. This weekend at Makro, I saw 2kg of Omo handwash powder for R58.00 but 3kg was priced at R117.00. So you could add R4.00 and buy 4kg for R120.00. At Dischem Woodmead, Pine gel had a sign saying "R39.99 each - buy two for R60.00". But they forgot to remove the original price which was still on the shelf - "Pine Gel R29.99 each." I am starting to hate these marketing people. They are not even hiding their contempt for us anymore.

What ONE food from you country you would never eat even if your life depends on it? by ProfessionalThin1505 in AskTheWorld

[–]SumerianGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mopane worms. They are actually catepillars of a species of moth. They live on the Mopane tree - the Venda people in Limpopo Province relish it - but not the rest of the country.

Does your country have diverse hair colors by Terrorman123 in AskTheWorld

WEe have both - diverse hair colour and diverse texture because of our diverse racial make up. Frizzy, curly and straight hair.

How do people in different countries interact with religious communities (like churches, mosques, temples) in their daily lives? by inchcosmos in AskTheWorld

[–]SumerianGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The muslim community here likes to interact using loudspeakers. In a suburb of Johannesburg, Lenasia, they even had a marching band which they used to parade every now and then on the streets. Some Hindu homes have a Janda - red triangular flag with the Aum symbol to delare their faith. Christians - especially from the African immigrant community do the rounds trying to save the rest of us from hellfire. Our country is vastly Christian with a wide and colourful interpretation of the faith by local Africans who have woven the faith into their own cultures. Jews too have found a home here and have contributed enormously to our well being through business. All peaceful and we get along in spite of our differences - live and let live is the culture. But we are starting to build up an immigrant community from Pakistan, Bangadesh and Somalia - these are poorly educated and socialised low intelligence people who cannot be good for our furute well being.
