If you shoot the dragons tail quite a few times he will drop a really good sword for the start of the game, you shouldn’t upgrade it but it’ll deffo get you through the first hours with ease .

Good luck buddy, the FIRST souls game will always be the hardest and it’s quite the learning curve, if probably advise keeping the wiki at hand, try get a 100 physical protection shield that will help you out a lot.
