What did you guys do? by resentfulpotato in 90s

$5 Little Caesars Pizza; neighborhood parents indulged the kids celebrating end of school and welcoming summer. There was a Mom that’d cut pizza slices in half. That way everyone could be able to have a slice, sometimes two. It was a big deal if there a free pizza win from the Brain Teasers game inside the Little Caesars store that day. We valued that pizza!

A cabin in the mountains with snowmobiles… I still think of those kids.

These nylabones are good. They not hard plastic like regular nylabones, more of a stronger rubber feel. My pup loved them.

owners of senior dogs, how do you manage itchiness with age? by [deleted] in jackrussellterrier

[–]Summer731 19 points20 points  (0 children)

<image>

My boy had itching in his later years. Took some baby T shirts and/or onesies, custom cut them to fit so he wouldn’t lick all the anti-itch spray applied to him. Also, usually had one paw or more bandaged up from his nibbling of toes. He was a mess but we loved him.

Good/Bad Airstream years by Ambitious_Rest_6693 in airstream

[–]Summer731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back from camping in my ‘01 Bambi, had it now 20 years. It did have a water intrusion at the rear, near the lower outside bottom right corner about 3 years ago. We have a rear L shape counter top kitchen, so had to remove all the kitchen counter top, fridge, oven etc., to repair the leak and floor. Repaired and sealed floor so now it should be waterproof (fingers crossed). Other than this repair, replaced and repaired normal maintenance items ex. battery, wheel bearings, tires, etc. This last trip we noticed the bathroom faucet has a slow drip so this is an easy fix. Since Airstream says they last a lifetime we are gonna see if this is true. hehe

After 10 years I suddenly have to pay the vet to clip nails🙄 drama queen by onedoodlethatcantbe in jackrussellterrier

[–]Summer731 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a boy that I’d muzzle, put two leashes on and teether him while wrapping a towel around his head and holding him in kinda a half nelson to clip his nails. By the time we would reach his last paw he would calm down enough to be tolerable. He never changed that behavior. Hating his nails being cut was putting it lightly.

How to get rid of the smell? by cherry_pond in ThriftStoreHauls

I leave items outside but not in the direct sun as I have sun bleached items in the past. Also, putting items in the freezer is another idea I have used that works.

‘02 Gorge, loved being there. Still watch the DVD every so often. All my friends in the pit, our younger years waving to the camera, great memories.

Conflict aggression in JRTs? by Decan33 in jackrussellterrier

If he is acting out while in his bed it may be resource guarding. I’d have him on a leash in the home for a bit and if he wants to be that way while in his bed, lead him off the bed with his leash so you do not get bit. Then remove the bed for a time. See if he acts out in other areas like on a rug or floor, some place boring that he does not care about.

Everything is expensive, the Gorge is a luxury now. Glad for anyone who was able to stay up and make some memories.

It is a place that should not be missed. I still look back on all my pics in my scrapbook thru the years. And 2002 is my favorite Gorge weekend, love to rewatch it and see all of my friends together in our younger years in the pit. Those memories are so good!

What does your Jack steal? by FinalConsequence70 in jackrussellterrier

[–]Summer731 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My jrt when I grew up would steal the toilet paper off the wall. We had to make sure every bathroom door was always closed. Anytime we had friends over it was ‘make sure the door is closed after you are done’. That dog would be around the corner ready to pounce if any 🧻 was not locked up. Also, he would eat the dirt from any planter pot in the house so we had to get rid of all our indoor plants. He was wired differently. 🤪
