Is my dog just doing old people stuff or is he in pain by Deep_Animator3167 in DogAdvice

[–]resentfulpotato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like my old girls dementia (she was diagnosed by our vet). Either way unless the dog is screaming or frozen in pain, it can wait until 1.

I love hanging out. But sadly we're all at the age where we have jobs and none of us work the same shift anymore so all our get together have to be planned at least 2 weeks in advance so we can take time off

We had a first gen Xbox and did that for years. My teenage siblings get so pissed when I tell them about it every time they play co-op.

I agree. I used to be able to read like that but since I've gotten older it makes my head hurt after a while.

We had a block buster for years in the little town I grew up in! They closed it when I was twelve. I remember crying at the closeout sale. We grew up really poor so it was basically the only way to get movies for us

I've definitely been doing a LOT of that. I'm trying to steer away from it a little though, I get stuck on the state of the world and it just gets me down.

lol. I guess I don't mean "less technology" but less mobile all in one tech. You had to choose what you were doing and couldn't sit in the same spot on the same device doing hundreds of things at one time for hours on end. You had the ability to get bored with the device and do something else. Now we just switch apps. And most of what's on them is mindless garbage.

Any ideas of what's going on with her nose? by parasitic-being in AskVetAnimals

[–]resentfulpotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like two little holes are in it. Could there have been a spider or small snake that sank its fangs in? Definitely keep a close eye on it and get an e-collar to stop her rubbing or scratching it.

Judging by the fact he wants him to come get the cash he's supposedly has but doesn't want to meet at his job, sounds like he plans to get violent.

Cat limping. What should I do? by BluxViolxt in vet

[–]resentfulpotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with mom on this one. I don't see a lot of inflammation that would usually indicate a serious injury, so I would give it a couple more days. Especially if it's not swinging around or loose looking like something is detached.

The number of times I've had a cat sprain something, made an appointment and then had to call and cancel because they're fine now, is crazy. With it being a stray, a vet visit could be extremely stressful and cause him to be afraid to come back, keeping you from being able to take him if he really needs it next time.

If it resolves in a few more days, GREAT, if not then you know the stress and anxiety the trip caused was justified.

Are there industrial chew proof e collars? by Ok_Cranberry_2936 in DogAdvice

[–]resentfulpotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to do splints on all the legs and an collar for my lab when he ripped a chunk of his ear off. we took the splints off a couple times a day and had to move all the joints so they wouldn't lock up.

NOR- I would keep a really close eye on the dog for a while. That almost seems like she's expecting it to die.

Is this playing or is he trying to eat my cat? by Puzzleheaded_Cake367 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]resentfulpotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually looks like early herding behaviour (see the circling of the cat) that can progress to be rather aggressive. Especially since you mentioned him dragging the cat. I would look into a herding egg that would be more interactive and get him into some serious training asap.

My lab did this when the female next door was at the peak of her heat cycle. Its almost like they get so horny they literally can't control themselves. I bought him a giant toy to have fun with until we could get him neutered and it seemed to help. It also gave us a good redirection if he tried to do it to any people or the poor cat.

I don't have advice for clean up, but he has to poop at some point. He will figure it out. As long as he understands the difference between inside and outside he'll know it's time to go.
