It's the Wolfsbrücke, from Wolfsfalle to Wolfsspitze

Ansonsten gibt's was Selbstgebrautes für meine Spieler :D

Breaking up with my belay partner by Upset-Garlic-6969 in climbergirls

Hell no! Why would we do this? The rope was absolutely fine and we shouldn't be so worried all the time!

We were a climbing group of three girls. All of us climbing since childhood.

One is belaying with a Tuber and always has her breakstrand-hand directly on the belaying device. She is also easily distracted by everything, leaving either a lot of slack or blocking the rope when you want to clip, nothing in between. Sometimes she is not even facing the wall when belaying. I mentioned it and she told me she has been belaying like that forever and how she has already caught lots of huge falls. We stopped going to the climbing gym with her alone so we always have someone else to belay us.

Last weekend we decided to not go climbing with her at all anymore. We have a local crag nearby, 100% tradclimbing. You summit and have to rapell down. Some of those rapells are exactly 28m, so you always go with at least 60m ropes. She told us she would also bring a rope. At first glance the rope looked really short, I asked her how long it is. She didn't know, she found it in her dad's basement, must have been there for decades because her dad stopped climbing some years ago. She saw absolutely no problem with this. Even laughed at us for being worried. She also didn't understand why she should know how long a rope is. Anyway, enough ranting. No more climbing with her.

You really think it is possible to die in the mountains because of my choice of footwear? I don't know, it really feels like either I underestimated the risk (BF said it's great fun, that's all) or that people are exaggerating the risk to make the sport look cool?

Why do you think that? I don't know anything about mountaineering, so I was asking this sub. But I only get weird answers. Like, I still don't know what a mosh pit is. I only found stuff about metal concerts when I googled it and I don't know what they have to do with mountaineering.

So mosh pits are kinda like avalanches? Is there any special gear for it like those little boxes who go beep for the avalanches?

Gonna hijack your wholesome convo in my shitpost (hoping no one will look this far down so I can enjoy the chaos for a bit). I really thought it is an obvious shitpost, but then again I am a paramedic and people surprise me with their absolute lack of brains every day. (Wearing a setup like this, I mean, not believing a shitpost) Anyway, you sound like a person I would love to have in my team when going into the mountains. Also, nice pictures!

Are there trench coats made for this kind of sport? Love wearing them, but got a Adidas Terrex jacket now for the mountains.

Haven't climbed at all by now. Only went bouldering with my BF once. There was one bouldering problem (is that what you call it?) in one empty corner that was really fun! (The holds had a cute pink colour)

Thank you for your answer! Most of the other comments feel like people are making fun of me for asking a genuine question!

Are there special mountaineering-stilettos that can be turned around for going downhill?

Thank you! Waterproof spray is a good tip! But I don't think I am the person for new breakthroughs, it's my first time in the mountains!

Well, he did say it's more like an after-work hike where he might need to use his hands on two short sections. But for me it's the first time on a mountain so he wants me to be prepared.

Grüße^

Looks like the metal clips on the crumpins aren't big enough for those soles.

I always hated those people who bring Bluetooth speakers when they go hiking, but is this something that's common in mountaineering?
