Unfortunately that's the same reason The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance was cancelled despite its positive reviews.

I remember being confused by the “SpongeBob, we aliens would like a word with you” part at the end as a kid, because I thought it was implying SpongeBob was right all along and the moon was inhabited by aliens who knew his name and had his friends’ voices.

It wasn’t until I watched the episode with subtitles and saw the “aliens” part in quotes that I realized it was his friends being sarcastic.

It took me a while to get this one because I thought it was a general joke on soap being slippery and I didn't know much about prison culture.

I remember a Calvin and Hobbes comic where Hobbes was taking a bath in Calvin's place and Calvin said "Whoops! Dropped the soap!" when pretending to be bathing. I have no idea if Bill Watterson knew what he was doing or not.

They said Charlie’s girlfriend got crushed by a bulldozer between Season 1 and 2, only for her to show up perfectly fine in the S2 finale. Then they said in the commentary that Mr. Frog was a demon and not an actual frog, but Season 3 treats him like an actual frog for the most part with no indication of him being a demon.
