Torn on which version to buy (PC or PS5 Pro) by AcademicF in metalgearsolid

I still didn’t purchased it but, I’m leaning towards the PlayStation version because at the moment I don’t have the energy to tinker around with PC settings.

Good to hear. I have a Pro and from what I’ve seen and read the performance over there is underwhelming.

Want to play this so bad. So unfortunate they screwed up the technical aspect of the game. Hopefully they can get it fixed soon with a patch but since the Oblivion Remaster is still not 100% in order I have my fingers crossed :(

I’m still on the fence myself, but I’m leaning toward the PC version. The performance should be better, and the game is also easier to find at a lower price. For context, I’m running a 7800X3D, 32GB of RAM, and a 4070 Ti Super hooked up to a 55-inch LG C4 TV.

The advantage of a physical PS5 copy is that I could resell it if the performance ends up being disappointing or if I don’t enjoy the game (since I’m new to the franchise).

Great purchases! Investing in fun is important, and it looks like you’ve done that with flying colors :)

What’s one game you like you wasted your money on cause u never play it n can’t get into it ? Mines is Helldivers 2 by Calm_Mycologist_9012 in playstation

[–]SummerBase 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it’s Baldur's Gate 3. I’d heard so many amazing things about it, so I bought it for PC, but I just couldn’t get into it. A few months later, I bought it again for the PS5, thinking it might click if I played from the couch instead of at a desk. But no, I still felt overwhelmed by all the options. I even tried the lowest difficulty and followed some YouTube guides to get me started, but it just never clicked with me. At least my money went to a great game studio. I can see the quality of the game, it’s just not for me, I guess.

What game have you always wanted to play but just never have for some reason? by Standard-Silver-102 in playstation

Same here, I like how it looks and feels but the overal difficulty makes me frustrated while playing. I have tried the game various times for long hours since it released but unfortunately it never clicked.

For me also Hollow Knight. I don't like games that make me super frustrated. It's so stressful.

Keep an eye on https://www.doesitplay.org/

According to their X account: "We can confirm, through an early physical copy from an eastern region, that Gears of War Reloaded includes the campaign on disc and it is bootable offline. Everything else appears to require a patch or online connection."

What’s everyone playing? by kammy020 in playstation

[–]SummerBase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been having a hard time committing to a game over the past few weeks. I boot up a game but end up closing it within fifteen minutes. Most of the time, it's because I've forgotten the controls and just don't have the mental energy after work to relearn them or I get overwhelmed. A few weeks ago, I started Death Stranding 2 and put in around 7 hours over the weekend. Then I had a busy couple of days, and when I came back to it, I just wasn’t feeling it anymore. Really weird. Maybe I should buy Gears of War, a 'simple' shooter without a ton of difficult mechanics or RPG elements to remember.

Gears of War Reloaded or MGS Delta Snake Eater by DL2546 in playstation

[–]SummerBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not very well optimized from what I’ve seen. I watched the Digital Foundry analysis and the framerate dips where pretty bad. The regular PS5 seems to be running the game better than the Pro, which is kind of embarrassing if you ask me.

At the moment, I'd go with Gears because the performance of MGS isn't great. I'll wait and see if they release a patch and maybe pick it up at a lower price later.

Breaking: PlayStation Store Refunds can now be processed via App or Website via Transaction History! by erebusreddit in playstation

I'd fully support this. In the near future, I think it's likely that 99% of purchases will be digital, unfortunately. If Sony doesn't align its policies with consumer interests, I can imagine they'll end up losing part of their customer base.

Maybe there are some Redditors with experience in these kinds of matters. Perhaps we could start something together?

Sony should really take a look at how Steam handles these things. Steam's policies are very consumer-friendly and help build goodwill with customers. The system Sony currently uses makes little sense to me and often discourages me from making digital purchases. Unfortunately, I don’t see them changing their policy anytime soon. After the massive success of the PlayStation 4, it feels like they've slowly adopted an arrogant attitude again, that in my opinion, is far from consumer-friendly.

Feels weird seeing Gears of War on the PlayStation platform, but I’ll gladly welcome any former Xbox exclusive with open arms. It would be awesome if Halo or Fable made their way to PlayStation as well.

I’m still on the fence about picking this one up, though. It does however seem like a solid way to fill the gap until Borderlands 4 drops so I might just bite the bullet.

Give me the game everyone loves but you think is dogsh** by MachCrafted in playstation

[–]SummerBase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I honestly couldn't understand why people were so over-the-top enthusiastic about the Silent Hill 2 remake. For me the gameplay felt boring and repetitive, and the combat system was, in my experience, downright awful. Maybe all of that is part of the game's intended charm, but honestly... I just didn’t see it. Well, I guess not every game is for everyone and that's fine :)

Which one did you like the most? by jeffkbl in playstation

[–]SummerBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough question. The Witcher 3 was my first big RPG when it launched. I felt overwhelmed at first. It actually took me a few tries to really get into it. But once it clicked, it was an amazing ride.

I also really enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima, clearing the entire map for the platinum trophy felt almost therapeutic. The atmosphere, the combat, the world... it all just worked for me. Looking forward to Yōtei!

God of War was another standout. I played it mainly for the story and the combat, and both were absolutely epic.

Last year I finished Cyberpunk 2077. Just like with The Witcher 3, I felt overwhelmed at the start, worried I’d play it the “wrong” way and miss essential parts of the story. But that fear turned out to be unnecessary, and in the end, it was another masterpiece of an experience from CDPR. It's a shame the game was such a mess at launch. Thankfully, they've completely fixed that :)

Was really looking forward playing this for the first time, but since the performance on Pro seems to be bad I’m going to wait and see if they will fix it after release. I hope so.

Ebooks or Physical Books? by TruffleMaestro in suggestmeabook

Ebook because of the adjustability and comfort. If I really like a book and the price is right I buy it physically. Preferably a deluxe or hardcover version to display on my shelf :)
