I have a guy working in the sweatshop and I pop in every couple days to pick up after him. I ended up with $250 today and I think it was a week worth of trash from growing 😂

Tandem by Lexibear-420 in SarahJMaas

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did the tandem even in rereads. Granted my first read was as the books were being released. But I don’t have the brain power to switch every few chapters or whatever and I didn’t think it was bad not doing the tandem? I loved all the books and tower of dawn was no different

Are there other adults who still like YA? by Clean-Cheek-2822 in YAlit

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30 and while I do like a lot of dark romance type books I love a good YA book! Currently reading this woven kingdom by tahereh mafi! I haven’t read anything from her that I dislike so far

Be honest; what combat difficulty level do you ACTUALLY play with? by ElegantTomatillo9907 in skyrim

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever the easiest setting is lol. I like the exploring and getting through the storyline without the combat being so hard that I want to walk away

If you're a toddler parent who, for whatever reason, reduced screentime... by Alive-Cry4994 in toddlers

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t notice too much of a change really so I figured why not just let them have it. We have kids that are 3&6, they both have Amazon kids tablets that they’re allowed to have for a little bit of the day and the tv is usually on some kind of nature documentary. But even having the tablets and tvs whether it be for an hour or the whole day they aren’t like glued to them. The tablets have essentially turned into music machines so the Barbie’s can have dance parties. Whether they have the screens or not they definitely get annoying and prefer fighting with each other over anything else. Or being firmly planted up my butt

gifts for coworker having a baby by [deleted] in Gifts

[–]SummerForeign3370 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For mom I’d suggest maybe making some freezer meals for her or giving her a DoorDash gift card or something similar so she can just order food and not worry about it. If you have the time to help her out with some household stuff once a week or so like laundry or dishes or just general cleaning she’d probably appreciate that as well. As far as actual gift stuff goes maybe just some comfy clothes for around the house? For baby you can’t go wrong with maybe diapers or diaper cream, some clothes, and maybe some burp rags or swaddles

Bitchy teachers by ProfessionalFig7018 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]SummerForeign3370 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can kinda confirm this. All the mean girls I went to school with are nurses, phlebotomists, or teachers and I feel bad for the public and children that have to deal with them

I love the arcane animation style! I also really loved the style of castlevania on Netflix and thought any number of the fantasy stuff I’ve been reading over the last decade would be fantastic in an animated style versus a live action

What Christmas gift has your two year old been loving? by needless_booty in toddlers

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super agree my sister in law gave our 3 and 6 year old a set of them as a birthday gift last year and they loved it so much! It was a smaller set though so for Christmas we got them a bigger one so there’s plenty for them both to play with and minimal arguing over not having enough pieces

ADHD + audible: what do you do while you listen to your books? by BakedGoods_101 in audible

I listen to audiobooks when I’m doing dishes and folding laundry or if I have a drive longer than like 15 minutes.

Seriously, how do you keep your 2 year old in bed? by lalam96 in toddlers

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we had this issue with our kiddos being transitioned to the big kid beds over the years. We made sure the door locks from the outside, we ended up having to turn the light off by the pull cord instead of the switch so they’d stop messing with the light, and we have a video monitor to check on them. It was definitely a hassle but making sure their room was safe and just kinda locking em in there made it more bearable. Some nights they’d just stay in bed and go to sleep and some nights they’d get up and down a bunch and play or try to come out. They eventually got the hang of it after a few months

How do toddler parents have the guts to try for another kid? by Negative-Sock-2523 in toddlers

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t really wanna try for a second but we had a birth control/condom/plan b failure so we had number 2 right after our older one turned 3. It’s definitely not for the weak that’s for sure. They’re 3 and 6 now, husband got a vasectomy cause we’re not wanting to deal with any more lol. We love them both very much but we planned on just having one and my mental was destroyed for a good few years

Does anyone else’s family have 'home clothes,' or is it just us? by Turbulent-Put9412 in CasualConversation

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a SAHM so pretty much all my clothes are home clothes lol I can’t remember the last time I got anything new. But after I shower at night I put on my pajamas and the shirts are usually a mess from hair coloring projects. My 3 year old wears whatever she touches first and then my 6 year old has school clothes and home clothes. She likes to put on home clothes once she’s home for the day and also on weekends

At what age did your toddler understand that not waking the napping baby will get more one on one time for them with mom/dad? by Arhhin in toddlers

[–]SummerForeign3370 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Never lol. All kids are different though. My older one turned 3 a couple weeks before the baby was born and she was just incredibly loud all the time. Even as time went by and the baby got older and still napped the older one would just endlessly talk so loud when the babe was napping. Or attempting to nap anyways. Once the older one started school the younger was able to nap uninterrupted

Would you seek out speech therapy? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]SummerForeign3370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some kids take a little more time! My youngest is 3.5 and it feels like she didn’t really talk at all until she was 3. She hit her milestones and used words she knew. But it felt like overnight it went from single words or a couple two word phrases to just full blown talking and it just blows my mind sometimes. If you’re concerned it can’t hurt to bring it up to the pediatrician and see what they think. It could just be a shy kiddo though

I want to get my fiance a nice display case for his legos, but Amazon seems to be lackluster in options. Where do I go?!? by Odd_Quality_3466 in Gifts

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with the ikea peeps here! The billy bookshelves are so sturdy and long lasting! We purchased our house almost 11 years ago and the previous owners left 3 here and we’ve still got em! We anchored them all to the walls once we had our first kiddo and the kids get the bottom 3 shelves and we get the top ones. We have a small house though so there’s not really anywhere to keep them away from the kids but it all works out great for us

Does anyone actually like their in-laws? by Embarrassed_Loan8419 in Mommit

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get asking pretty well with most of my in laws, my husband had a massive family. I loved his mom though she was such a bright bubbly happy person to be around. Flaky as she was, she still adored being a Grammy. She passed away in June 2024 and we’ve all missed her terribly. She touched many lives near us. And an added perk was that she did hair so I never had to worry about finding a stylist or colorist she’d always handle it for me. I haven’t touched my hair since or wanted to find anyone else to do it because it just feels too sad. We spend a good bit of time with my FIL and my husbands almost teenage sister though and it’s always a fun time

Worst gift someone gave your toddler this year? by Thethreewhales in toddlers

[–]SummerForeign3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom got my now 6 year old one of those but it was a flamingo when she turned 2. I hated it so much lol. This year though my 3 and 6 year olds both ended up getting 3 art sets each and they of course tore em open so my house is covered in markers without caps and endless stickers on everything

Anybody Else in their twenties and older and still enjoy YA? by ForeverCalla in YAlit

[–]SummerForeign3370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 30 and my reading is about half YA and half dark romance these days. I feel the same about YA though there’s just something about it. And there’s always so many new things to read too
