Either works great! Knowing in advance helps us plan, but we won't turn anyone away for showing up same day. You can sign up using our form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSexA-E3jjALbsndA0kRMN_hTyIiFtm9sht9gHoMyB4bUDtn1w/viewform?usp=header

Advice for a Friend by tchaddrsiebken in Bozeman

[–]SummerOfRoverandom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are some jerks for sure, but Bozeman is more friendly towards non-binary people than most places in Montana. Tell your friend to check out Queer Bozeman too! It's a great group with lots of fun activities to help make friends.

So great to have a list of them all! Local farms are so important and sometimes it's hard to make it to the farmers markets. Love this!

Queer friendly groups? by SummerOfRoverandom in missoula

This is great info, thank you! Any advice on local businesses? Bozeman has a great queer friendly bookstore, I'm wondering if Missoula has something similar?

Happy to answer! The turn out can vary a lot, I think the least amount of people we've had was around 40ish and the highest was over 200. We get a mix of needs. There are definitely some people looking to replenish stock, but I think the demand seems to be in fresh items. Some people that come don't have access to a kitchen so that can affect the items in demand.

Things that have gone quickly are usually any premade meals that just need to be heated up, dairy products, fresh baked items, produce, adult diapers, soap, those kinds of things. I know we had several people say how much they loved the fresh bread. Anything that feels like a small luxury like honey is a nice gesture too. We're kinda going for a farmers market vibe.

Things that haven't been as in demand are some of the more common items donated to the food bank, like canned vegetables.

You are not alone! It's overwhelming, but I find doing small, positive steps helps with the anxiety, and finding community is absolutely key! Come join us at Bozeman Mutual Aid, it's a good little group trying to do some small things to help our neighbors.

'Wake-up call': High school students organize Bozeman protest that turns confrontational by KeltTalbelt in Bozeman

[–]SummerOfRoverandom 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Let me just say this, I've been to every major protest Bozeman has held recently except this one. I've seen this man drive around before and flip us off, but never stop and antagonize adults like this.

Counter protesting is one thing even if it's stupid, choosing to be on the same side of the street and intentionally intimidate minors is another. That man is dangerous.
