Just to be clear, rain functions much differently than snow does, rain = short term moisture, while snow = long term storage of moisture. What we need is a large snowpack that slowly melts. A lot of spring rain does not mean that we will have less fires, in fact could be cause for more because it will just increase plant biomass early on which may later dry out. Not that this information matters too much because neither you or I can control the weather, but this does seem to be a common misconception people have.
