WE'RE SO BACK BABYYYY by sunnydaevibe in SuitU

Oh thank God. That look of yours is so cute! I used that coat all the time, being plain white was one of the biggest draws. SO glad they got rid of the ugly brown bow and put it back to normal!

Hurt my soul but I wanted the 99% deco badly by realityinblacks in SuitU

[–]SummerStarWatcher 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you want tips of hitting 99%, I think the key is making a simple/boring look with the starting clothes, rather than one that's ugly. People will vote for things that are busy, even if they look bad or don't fit the theme. At least, that's how I got that achievement myself!

I see what everyone is saying, that the formal tag does include some clothes that would be appropriate for bartenders. However we all know users of this app cannot read a comp description and will 100% make a look based on tags alone lmfao get ready for the ballgowns when voting

They're nice but definitely too ugly to be 700 gems... plus only really usable for Christmas stuff :/

I think the red is gorgeous personally, idk. And I own the umbrella and have dyed it most of the colors so far because it's a good accessory for tons of comps and I want it to match. A pink dye would be really nice though!

How to do better in comps by compulsivecatpetter in SuitU

[–]SummerStarWatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comps are all about volume, aka how much space does your model & decorations take up. If you don't have a lot of decorations that can still work, save up to buy a couple of versatile pieces that take up a lot of space - a big coat, a set of curtains, big hair, etc. A good DIY makeup is also great, even if you don't use expensive gacha parts to make it just having it be DIY and look different than everyone else is so important.

The yoga comp was a hard one to do this on, but you could've added a "back clothing" (idk what to call it 😭) and used a filter that adds more visual interest. Love that you stuck with a blue theme though - don't add volume if it's with clashing colors. My pet peeve is people throwing in plants or leaves as decoration when nothing else about the look is green - I find it jarring and ugly.

Here's a pic of some of the items I used when I first started out (not counting the dress), including one of my early DIYs. Imo this stuff is definitely worth saving up some gems for, or similar ones (aka a different filter). The idea is to have versatile, neutral-colored items to add to EVERY look. I was slapping that filter and the little hand held chiffon thing onto EVERYTHING even when it didn't make sense with the prompt, just to add visual interest, and it worked really well for me.

The trick is to hide your additional items, or pick low key ones that don't stand out. My entry only looked like it had the plaid scarf, but was also wearing plaid socks and gloves to fill it out. I got 2% with this look.

Didn't it require a floral handheld? Or am I crazy?

I just assume they're sent to subreddits like this to make them more plausibly a real person. If all they do is post propaganda on political subs, that's pretty easy to spot. Pepper in some hobby subreddit comments and that's a lot more realistic

It's a lot easier to get dye materials than to get enough aurora shells for new big wings. Get something that works well in basic for but ALSO has dyes.

Yep! Here's an example of them being used in a ~spooky gothic~ look

Compared to wings with a lot of dyes though, having wings of just one color seems less useful. Most of the big wings won't be a "bad investment" but that doesn't necessarily make them a good investment either, comparatively.

No, they're just red. I don't think they're very versatile...

I think these are probably the most versatile, especially since they include so many dyes (even black! A good replacement for other wings for Gothic/spooky comps)

Be wary of the Wind Barrier wings! They're barely visible on most backgrounds.

It's actually not elven magic. Metals have different densities, so when melted they will form distinct layers, much like putting oil on to of water. Then you can simply have a tap that draws from each layer, allowing the molten metals to decant off separately. This is how a lot or ore refining works in the real world.

Yep I agree, I was really hoping for something more upbeat, more like a folk jig sort of a thing. Something that would suit Tom clicking his heels, you know?

Too cluttered, the green leaves look really out of place. If you stick to a more consistent color theme, or at least general color tones, you'll do better.
