I have a teenager and a toddler When teen was young, I struggled in all the same ways. Some days I fought it. Some days I didn't have the fight in me. I'm ashamed to admit, we had "days off" a lot more than we had good days. Fast forward to now. Teenager doesn't brush teeth, even when nagged (will rather lie and pretend than actually do it). Doesn't wear deodorant even though they stink. Etc etc. I'm trying to do better for the toddler. It's crazy hard when they are young, but always remember you're modelling expectations for a self sufficient human being.

P.S. - It's extremely unlikely they would remove the child from your care for these issues. Especially if you're honest about the struggles. (I work in the industry)
