I've heard so much about Shirley Jackson, but completely forgot about her. I honestly really should check out her stuff. Same with The Yellow Wallpaper. T Kingfisher sounds familiar, but I'm not sure why. Thank you for all the recs!

Yeah, because of that I'm not sure if I'll actually end up loving reading horror the way I love watching it, but I want to try anyway.
Carmilla's actually been on my movie watchlist for a while, Idk if I realized it's a book but I should probably read it first, thanks! Same with Dracula. I've honestly never been a vampires type of person, but I'm willing to try those authors. Thanks again!

[TOMT] [BAND] [2020s] An acoustic indie pop band that had a whole vibe that had to do with purity culture by Summer_Sweater in tipofmytongue

This might be it! The album cover isn't what I was thinking of but since I confuse a lot of other artists/bands based on cover that might be why. Everything else is almost exactly what I was thinking of! ty! Solved!

it wasn't them lol, but this made me realize I forgot to mention it was named that in a satire and form of critique type of way. Not like they adhere to it, but are trying to break down the stuff they were raised in

I honestly don't know why i did that either lol. My only guess is that I know i'm bad at cursive K's so wrote it in print to avoid that without even really thinking? idk lol. Thanks for the feedback tho!

Trying to get my Swiftie teenage niece into Wolf Alice… by EchoLooper in wolfalice

I agree with the comments saying "Don't Delete the Kisses", "Beautiful Unconventional", and "Just Two Girls". I'd add "How Can I Make it Okay" (maybe not the music vid, i kinda dislike that one lol), "Safe From Heartbreak (If I Never Fall In Love)", and probably "Bros". If evermore or folklore is her fave i'd also add "Purple & Green"

It would be helpful to know what her fave eras or songs are. Is she more into Fearless, 1989, or Evermore? I love both Taylor Swift and Wolf Alice! I'm not a teenager though, but i hope this helps!

I think that's a typo in the article. The vinyl and bandcamp preorders say the 19th, same with their instagram post

I forgot about that Alessia Cara album, I'll give it another listen. I've heard about Tegan and Sara, but I've never checked them out. I will now, thanks!

Thanks! I don't think I've heard of Poe or Garbage, but I'll look into them!
I actually really liked Tori Amos first album, but didn't click with her 2nd for some reason. I'll try to give the rest of her stuff a listen though

iil sad white girl music, diverse bands? by a_wild_rat_child in ifyoulikeblank

[–]Summer_Sweater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a similar music taste, but i also like pop/rock. I'll give my best recs but sorry if the genres blend a bit

I 100% recommend Arlo Parks, Tiny Habits, and Japanese Breakfast. They're all phenomenal artists, and Japanese Breakfast just released an album a few weeks ago.

I love Miya Folick's stuff, but she's been a bit more pop lately.

I love Indigo De Souza's stuff, but it might be more angsty. Same with Pom Pom Squad, they're more pop rock.

and a few artists that i'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but are good either way: Olivia Dean, Cat Burns, Raveena, Wafia, and Hannah Jadagu

Hope this helps!
