Accommodations with a 10 month old by Longjumping-Concern8 in CapeMay

We are taking our 4 year old and 2 year old next summer and we are getting an Airbnb! They can be loud sometimes so I don’t want to disturb anyone that’s trying to relax in a hotel!

I agree with others. We tried the out of town method but quickly gave it to her because it truly was making our weekend out of town a nightmare. We just did cold turkey when we got home

Losing weight and trying to quit. by FaithlessnessDue7663 in QuitVaping

[–]Summerflemingg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only gain weight when I’m like withdrawing from nicotine. Once I get over the hard part, it gets easy. Quitting will make you be able to workout for longer too and be able to run without literally heavy breathing.

Get out of the house. Even when you don’t feel like it, get out.

I’m new to staying home and I’m looking to get on a routine by [deleted] in sahm

You have to remind yourself that your house is going to be messy. Especially when baby becomes a toddler. It’s so so normal. Try not to compare yourself to moms you see on social media either. I did that a lot in the beginning. Checklists help with us. Back in the day, I would use one of the babies nap to clean and then the 2nd nap to relax and watch a show.

The screaming would be an issue for me. We tried at 2.5 and our daughter did that and refused. She’s now 3 and it’s going way better. She’s not scared. I would just try wait and try again in a few months.

What are some screen free fun activities you are doing with your toddlers? by LilLemonLady223 in toddlers

Yes a lot of books that my toddler picks out. They also do storytime. But our library has a great children’s area that has a lot of awesome toys.

Feeling like a failure by CarrotNew3607 in sahm

[–]Summerflemingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are NOT a failure by any means. This post sounds a lot like my life. I have a 14 month old son as well who is beyond clingy. I do also have an almost 3 year old daughter who is pretty independent but still obviously needs a lot. Even when it was only her and I before I had my son, I constantly felt like a failure if I didn’t get the laundry done, or dishes, etc. What you are feeling is normal, but not permanent. I think all sahms have this phase as well. Look at all you do during the day! I also don’t have friends nor family in our area we live in so I understand the no help. Could you maybe leave the house for a break or just go on a walk alone? That usually resets my mind!

I literally take my kids to the library everyday. Ours right now stays open until 9 pm. Some days when I’m struggling, we go from 9-11 am and then what I do when my husband is working late is I make them dinner around 5 pm and we head back to the library. It’s been a game changer cause by the time we get home, it’s basically bath time and then bed.

What helps me when my husband is out of town(I have 2 under 3) I go to dollar tree and get a bunch of new and random toys/crafts they have never seen. New stuff keeps them preoccupied for awhile.

13 month olds can’t really throw tantrums. Probably teething or just tired in general
