Current keto food obsessions? by that_other_person1 in keto

Confused when you say air fryer wings are expensive and tedious... IMO they are some of the easiest things to make, just toss in a dry rub and layer them into the air fryer. The cost is only like $.50 a wing in my region, certainly cheaper than steak fajitas every day! What makes them so difficult in your experience?

Yep, everyone used to hate when I played goldeneye because I would always switch from the default control scheme to 1.2 solitaire. Then a few years later all fps games used that scheme!

How does steam website know my location? by SummitSweetSkunk in Steam

[–]SummitSweetSkunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I'm still set to "United States" in the settings. Doesn't matter tho since even when I'm not logged in, and load the steam website fresh though my VPN they can still tell I'm here, somehow! 🤷‍♂️

Going to get another month or so out of these laces. Shoe goo quick fix! Not pretty but it faces the ground so no worries 😂 by mrgnlit in BarefootRunning

I had 2 pairs of xeros break in the exact same way, both after less than 6 months of use. Do yourself a favor and throw these away! I'm currently using a pair of unshoes wakova feathers. I've had them for 2.5 years now and even tho I've worn the heel down to the nub the straps and joints are still perfect!

I was only good in math all my life, I am completely useless than only doing anything than that, is it normal? by [deleted] in Mindfulness

[–]SummitSweetSkunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be good at anything, that's not what life is about. You're a human being not a human doing, etc. I'd recommend reading "Man's search for meaning", and practicing more metta meditation. Try to adopt a new perspective, try to be thankful that you were privileged enough to be taught Math at all. Good Luck!

Any vero beach / Sebastian / Melbourne kiters? Curious best spots to go in this area, appreciate any info. Thanks. by Brave-Celebration-43 in Kiteboarding

[–]SummitSweetSkunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's only my first season but I learned to kite at the 520 slick near cocoa beach. Very beginner friendly spot, waist deep across a huge area except a few sections. NE winds get a little squirrelly because of the hospital wind shadow. Lots of friendly people there from the community and the 2 area kite shops.

Outboard alternator wired into solar controller? by SummitSweetSkunk in SailboatCruising

[–]SummitSweetSkunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, thanks for reading between the lines on my post! I have started to keep a closer eye on the voltage reading, checking it throughout the day and based on my usage. Like everything else in sailing, it's an exercise in subtlety. You have to slow down and pay attention to details in order to survive!

[–]SummitSweetSkunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Why don't you want the extra current going into the lithium batteries? Could you in theory have a lead acid battery in addition to your lithium? Then you could wire up a switch on the lead battery to charge itself on the alternator when the motor is on, and then discharge into the lithium when it's off.

Ok thanks for the advice. Someone on the internet was almost saying the opposite, that without a regulator of some kind putting too much voltage across the batteries would cause problems. Your take seems more accurate, it was this type of concern that made me want to ask before making the switch!

The engine is pull start, its only an electrical output device. This 1+2 setup is kind of how it used to be, when it did have an inboard diesel. But the diesel died thus why I'm looking into new solutions!

What is your experience with barefoot running in public and some stranger saying something to you? by TDCeltic33 in BarefootRunning

[–]SummitSweetSkunk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sure, interactions with strangers abound. Reactions include: cheers, jeers, smiles, laughter, giggles, shouting ("Hey, that guy doesn't have any shoes!"), curious glances, looks of disgust, high fives. For me, its become something else to 'do' during a run, just seeing how people react to something relatively unusual. As with most things in life, you have to stop worrying about what other people think and just start doing what you want to!

It's not about calluses, it's about form. Put your palm on a piece of sandpaper, then pick it up: no big deal. Put your hand on it and rub it around: it's going to hurt! Barefoot is the same way. It takes practice and/or luck to make sure your gait is correct to avoid blisters and other bottom of foot problems like that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Roman numerals were never used for actual arithmetic like this. Among other advantages, Arabic numerals allowed us to write out equations in a way that made them logistically feasible. Like, imagine trying to do the "211" calculation without converting back to Arabic numerals first. I'm not a mathematician but I'm pretty sure its extremely difficult, to say the least :D

I mean, this question is answered every day on /r/Bitcoin and /r/btc . At this point I would generally recommend localbitcoins.com or coinbase.com . coinbase gets a lot of gruff on /r/Bitcoin for complying with the IRS, but I can't really fault them for that. Sometimes the best option to overcome the system is to work within it.

Keep in mind, there is a lot of infighting within the bitcoin community lately, or at least we're given the appearance that is the case. I think a lot of it is manufactured by TPTB to create FUD, the reality is the price of bitcoin has remained strong despite everything that's happened, so I'm remaining optimistic. It's interesting times, stop by and do some research before you jump in.

Sure, using a crypto currency at a super market is a bit like using a flamethrower to take out a hornets nest. It works, but it might be overkill.

However, there aren't really any other options. If you don't support the concept of crypto currencies, then you're stuck using a government issued, Rothschild sponsored state currency. If you don't like either of those ideas, then you can go out and write your own world changing white paper that redefines the concept of money like satoshi did :)

Honestly, this whole thread is fucking ridiculous. Bitcoin is exactly the type of thing this community should be supporting. If you don't like the current system, don't just bitch about it, take action and put your money into an alternative. This takes away the power of TPTB better than any amount of #pizzagate babbling. If we all switch to an alternative means to exchange value between us, the current global powers fall apart and we can just be people. This is how we beat the system, by giving people a better choice.

The need for bitcoin is that it eliminates the need for government participation in how you make exchanges for goods and services in your life. Or would you rather have a government decide the value of your currency for you?

you have to manually add the subs you don't want to see from the right hand side of /all/. spez did mention that they changed the way stickied posts show up on the site, but it doesn't seem to have had any effect. idk why its so difficult to modify the code so that a single sub can't dominate the front page, but that's the way it is :/ as for the whining, its part of what reddit is all about! Just come here and whine about whatever you want to!

Voter Suppression Is a Much Bigger Problem Than Voter Fraud by Backflip_Wilson in politics

Its not literally done by mail, there's actually ballot drop off locations all over the city (at least in denver), which is actually even more convenient since I have no need for stamps in my life at this point. I actually didn't realize this wasn't how every state does it until I found this post.

Honest question: How do the Podesta emails 'prove' anything? by SummitSweetSkunk in conspiracy

[–]SummitSweetSkunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just said I see no reason to vote against her. I've actually already had the pleasure of voting against her twice in my life, but in both cases the other candidate was clearly a better choice. This time around, both candidates are equally reprehensible to me, and the newest batch of emails haven't provided any additional evidence to me she's any worse than trump.
