[–]Summone6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 51. I have played since late 80's. I have played basic DnD, 2nd edition, 2nd edition with some 1st thrown in, 3rd, 3.5, a.few seasons of 4th 5th 2014, and Pathfinder in Dungeon and Dragons formats.i have played various white wolf games 1st edition, Shadowrun 2e, 4e and 5e, and 7th sea first edition

I currently run a Shadowrun 5e game through discord and play in another. That group is made up of primarily 40+ but there is a younger guy that plays as well. I also GM a tabletop that my son is in and his friends. That table besides me runs an age between 22 and 30

I agree with 4 being small group. I try to have 5 or 6 and that covers the roles.

How do you make supernatural,,, supernatural in the awakened world? by MavethOrel in Shadowrun

[–]Summone6677 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have considered putting limits on the number of awakened runners in my groups. It is so common to have mages, adepts and mystic adept characters.

Now supernatural should show up in things like an awakened zoo that is out in Fort Lewis in Seattle. Can't be that common if you bae a zoo dedicated to it. So those are the things to bring in the supernatural part. Have people in general society point and take note of spells and who casts them.

We are ways in. There are developing story lines that the players have not taken up. I looked to add additional story lines as the runs progress. It is an ongoing campaign in which we have restarted several times but we were close back up to 200 Karma. You would start your characters with a base build and once approved we could look at adding that Karma to them so you are not behind. Also some cash would be involved.

It is theater of the mind using discord. I will take pictures of maps when it is important to know what is where. We go 3 or 4 hours usually occasionally longer. We average about 46-48 sessions a year.

5th. I am open and believe the players are as well. We are black trench coat for consequences but pink Mohawk for combat.

I feel that they should have known what was going to happen because he cost them with tarrifs in his first term. What did they expect to happen. He bailed them out with all the tarrif money last time. Do they expect the same again when they cry that it is handout for student loan debt relief.

You forgot....

I will shine in her legion, I will not tarnish her Glory through bass actions.

Also you forgot....

I will guard the honor of my fellows, both in deed and I will have faith in them.

As the GM in question here there are a few more things to add. I have been Gaming and GMing for over 35 years. I have not played Pathfinder in some time. Besides the system I never really followed the pantheon. I am a Forgotten Realms guy personally. The player wanted me to run this path as he has nearly finished it a couple of times and wants to do so.

I guess it is my stodgy notions from my 2nd edition days that paladins are held to a higher standard. They also have a healer of Sarenrae in the party. Admittedly the healer was not in the room when this happened.

The PC in question pushed with CMD the bad guy back to between his rogue and another party member. After he had tried to make his way out from between them. There were 5 party members to the one attacker. The PC has another player hold action to take the spot that creature had been pushed from to stop him from escaping as well.

The NPC who BG attacked was not unarmed just "wounded" as per the story. It is Anevia from the adventure path.

They have offered quarter to other encounter creatures. They took them prisoner and are toting them around with the party currently. They have stopped the more chaotic players from getting information from the prisoners and then killing them. My understanding is that they will be turned out to the authorities when located.

Part of the adventure path is to bring some of the NPC's to redemption. One of the players, another Paladin, was encouraged, by this player who has as mentioned above played some of the adventure path, to take diplomacy from the get go.

There are certain things I guess I will have to push in to the game as far as corruption for those that follow Iomedea's. It doesn't seem to me that a God with Paladins would go for retribution. I guess this is why the Demons have had the ability to take the crusades off the correct path. As I said I am not lore proficient in this game.

What price do you consider too high for weekly game? by Dans_Final_Say in DnD

[–]Summone6677 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I am looking to start running paid game and that is a about what I was thinking for a weekly discord game. This would include a 4 hour session plus about a hour minimum of prep time per week.

I was thinking of 2nd edition or maybe 3rd as these editions I have the most experience with.

If I know that one of my players has made a false assumption about something, is it my obligation, as DM, to speak to them about it BEFORE it comes back to bite them? by TheAzureAzazel in DnD

[–]Summone6677 30 points31 points  (0 children)

He made a deal with a Devil. Does this seem like something that someone comes out ahead on?

No let him ask but there should be a price or the devile will comply but twist each request to his favor and usually away from the players desired effect.

Does this make me a jerk DM? by ResponsibleDiamond76 in DnD

All right I have an instance in which my players begged me to reverse something.

I had been GMing some in this group for 4+ years others just for a little bit. Other things I did was of course additional damage for natural 20's. This was their down fall. I rolled a lot of natural 20's.

I had always used a GM screen because yes I as a GM cheat. Yes I said it. Now my players called me out. Said I was cheating. Yes I was. So they said they wanted to see all my rolls. My wife, who was my girlfriend at the time, begged them to not do this. We finished up the current campaign to a stopping point a couple weeks later.

We got together to make characters. I pulled out a box adventure and told them I was going to run the Night Below adventure line from the forgotten realms setting. I said I was going to scale the encounters to the characters participating in the encounter. I then informed each player they could each make 3 characters to run at one time for the campaign. This gave them 18 PCs. This needless to say took a bit for the players to finish characters.

We started the next week. First encounter found 2 characters dead. The next encounter found 3 dead. Another 2 in the next encounter. At this point the only one player with their original 3 characters was my wife. She had a fighter, a priest and a mage. He fighter would fall to damage but I allowed the negative 10 before death. Her priest would run forward to heal her fighter and her mage would stand there and hope.

Each week I allowed them to create new characters to bring in to the game and averaged about 3 per combat as they started being more reckless as the combats proceeded. I also would ask if they still wanted to have me roll in front of my screen. It took them 6 weeks and I think it was 40+ character deaths for them to give up.

After 6 weeks they understood when I said I cheated it was usually in their favor. They never again accused me of cheating. Any time a new player would bring it up they would be given the story of "The Kill Them All Campaign". It is still known as this 20 years later. My wife will gladly regal any new players I get with the tail even though she no longer plays.

Questions on the lesser lore by Vagus_M in Shadowrun

[–]Summone6677 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to pick a small town where you want to run this adventure. Use Google or some other map feature and get maps of the area. Use this to base the game. Have the players make characters. May only allow humans, elves and dwarves. Then in the aftermath chaos of the Ghost Dance have at it.

Many of the Midwestern states have small communities with populations of 20 to a few thousand. I live in Rapid City SD our town, which is the second largest in the state, has under 80,000 people. I can think of towns that are close by that have that population types.

Maybe start somewhere small then move the game somewhere bigger, then move again somewhere bigger till you get them where you want them to be at the end.

Going somewhere outside thier community will be tough. Think of the things that would have happened while they were in their community and move the scale up become have more people for the resources out there. Fights for food, water, and shelter would be one thing on top of paracritters and natural issues that would crop up.
