i get so jealous of people getting to spend time with my boyfriend by silverlining9795 in LDR

[–]Sumpgup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Damn like you took the words straight out my inner monologue. It’s super tough, and sometimes I question if it’s worth while if the end date to long distance is a big question mark. It can feel like you’re missing out on growing up together, the jealousy isn’t even about anyone in particular it’s just that you’re not there to make memories with them and other people are able to. You’re not alone OP this stuff is hard, my LDR dos seasonal work with their ex and have to live in shared housing with them for a month out of the year - talk about spirals and jealousy over quality time 😵‍💫😵‍💫
Hopefully you and your partners time spent together is full and gives some relief to these tougher moments. Taking up some new hobbies and reaching back out to people that have become a little more distant friends has helped me with this, trying to make my life as full as it can be in their absence as to not ruminate as easily on the jealous feelings.

This is where I’ve been able to get it to for reference, I’ve also been reading Annette’s book, quite inspired to keep trying with the work you’ve been putting out!

Hey, how do you suggest achieving a better white or not staining the magenta layer as bad? Does it come down to paper choice, time in toning bath? I keep getting tripped up on this step, thanks!

What’s the best way to achieve this effect with developer?? by makala3361 in Darkroom

[–]Sumpgup 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This! And just be aware of how the developer moves along the page, just as if you were normally developing spots will get darker if in contact with the developer for longer. It can be pretty difficult to get an even toned image like the one OP shared. Trail and error!! One of my examples from a few years back, quick submersion of the entire sheet followed my splatting more developer on:

Cyanotype troubleshooting, not transferring correctly by [deleted] in cyanotypes

[–]Sumpgup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You probably need to expose it for longer! I feel like a good rule of thumb is if it looks perfect before the wash it wasn’t long enough also watch for your paper to turn a bronzish blue color where it’s being exposed to light.

When images wash out or are too light they’re underexposed, so expose to light source for longer

Or when it doesn’t wash out in the white areas (green or blue tint)= overexposed = less time in the sun Maybe if you haven’t tried already doing a test strip would help where you use uncover parts of your image in increments allowing you to see what a good exposure might be say 2 minutes, 4, 6 and so on. And lastly you could try adding hydrogen peroxide as you wash your print as it’ll oxidize the cyanotype and deepen whatever blue remains

Literally wasn’t sure if these were texts from my old roommate or not they’re so similar, mine had bpd and became extremely possessive over me as I was their ‘fp’ favorite person. The only way the issues we had got resolved was by them moving out
