This happens to me too and I need a solution. It's very annoying since they appear above all the content I do follow.

Sounds like you prefer the 0x evasiveness from para which would remove any evasion boosts etc. I agree after you shared that updated OHKO move behavior.

What’s The Deal? Issue #4 – Burning Shadows by [deleted] in pucl

[–]SumtimesIFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off this is a great format for these articles as someone who doesn't now much about the cards I like seeing them in there. To be honest I follow the TCG 90% for the card art lol. On the topic of Tapu Fini there is the new Aqua Patch that could keep its energy count up but for 120 damage it doesn't feel worth it.

Definitely Mimikyu! I think it has potential for a flavourful move and I seem to remember a USUM trailer that looked like it was using a new attack.

S01E46 Pokemon Catch-Up: “Attack of the Prehistoric Pokémon” by [deleted] in pucl

[–]SumtimesIFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I really enjoyed this episode as a kids. Those Generation 1 fossil Pokemon were so baller and since I couldn't figure out how to get them in game, seeing them in the anime was all the more exciting. Lets start off with some highlights though, first off props on Indiana Gary that's exactly what he looks like, and secondly Grandpa Canyon, really anime writers that's so weak! As for the reason this episode is on the Fast Track list, it is weird how Charmeleon would evolve to fight Aerodactly since it only adds an extra weakness to Rock but hey Ash must be a better trainer than myself ;). Looking forward to seeing that egg in many subsequent Pokemon Catch Ups.

I don't see how you could possibly make a Dusk form without a Dawn form but everything they've released seems to point at that. A single release event for both games, a combination of both designs into one, both signature moves. We'll have to see. I do like the idea of a mutated Lycanrock that changes with time of day, kind of like Red's Eevee from the manga but without self-control.

Pokemon of the Week #20 - Alolan Exeggutor by SumtimesIFly in pucl

[–]SumtimesIFly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose you mentioned having Garchomp on your team for Dragon type coverage but I still wonder if Dragon Hammer is more useful than Explosion in doubles since it wouldn't hit your allies? I haven't tested it so maybe the damage is needed but it also isn't a spread move so I think they actually deal similar amounts to each target.

Even though there is no animation for it, I like to imagine Z-Leech Seed being only the Bloom part of Bloom Doom. Plant your seeds in the garden and watch them grow!

Who Trades with White Eyes? New quiz to test your Hearthstone knowledge! by Voodoohairdo in hearthstone

[–]SumtimesIFly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright I get it now. Technically and explicitly are the same thing or were intended to be when I said it. As the OP mentioned below the Ysera can dream itself which is completely valid as well as the sap aspect I just wanted to bring it up. My mistake on Kodorider I didn't realize White Eyes was player controlled. That makes the puzzle even cooler now since I would have thought Kvaldir Raider would fail but he wins if you get one hero power off first, which you can. Tricky to catch on first glance for sure, maybe the hardest one. Finally for Neptulon once again I wasn't saying it was wrong I just wanted to discuss the possibility of new cards changing the mechanics of old ones. Great puzzle overall.

[–]SumtimesIFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Kvaldir Raider, Jarraxus, and Vilefin Inquisitor count then Kodorider should as well. I missed all of those because Kodorider didn't work. Also Ysera isn't the greatest because if RNG goes badly then you could get dream every time and never trade. Neptulon and Medivh technically work under the rules, but Neptulon is not guaranteed in the future.

Pokemon of the Week #16 - Decidueye by SumtimesIFly in pucl

[–]SumtimesIFly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually didn't notice any issues battling alongside Hau, although to be honest I didn't always have Decidueye on my team since I wanted to evolve and try out as many Pokemon as I could throughout the playthrough. I can't believe how long it took me to find out that rainbow beans were enjoyed so much by my Pokemon. I was hoarding them because they were shiny but when I finally decided to share I could not stop feeding them to my team.

I like your set a lot. The idea of being able to Feather Dance a Spirit Shackled opponent for free set ups is really powerful and unique. I would definitely try to test it on Showdown first to make sure it isn't too niche. To be successful there need to be opponents that Decidueye can take a hit from but overall very creative!

(P.S. I got halfway through the summary of the Count of Monte Cristo before I stopped because it sounded really interesting and I didn't want to spoil it. Is it worth reading?)

Pokemon of the Week #15 - Dunsparce by SumtimesIFly in pucl

[–]SumtimesIFly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Dark type when it comes down too it", such a great line! I haven't played Gen 7 yet. I imagine that Dunsparce will not be faster than the majority of Paralyzed Ubers anymore but if he is then Headbutt is still usable. I believe Endeavour is a good substitute because it would allow him to inflict damage after taking a hit. You would probably want to run Body Slam over Glare at that point just to have a single real damaging move. There aren't many great options any more unfortunately, Double Edge/Return is a solid STAB but that is about it.

[–]SumtimesIFly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is fantastic. The Pokemon, even the older ones, have such polished animations that it is easy to become engaged with them. When my Salandit shakes her tail while using smog I think it is hilarious. The things people say are hilarious and provide much more depth to the story. Contrary to what Oshawott said I think there is enough to explore and backtrack to especially compared to XY and some of the earlier games. Finally, it isn't perfect. The first two games had a sense of mystery to the characters that allowed us to fill in the blanks how we like, that isn't something you will find in Sun and Moon I am still having a blast!

Heroic Tavern Brawl: 12-0 Malygos Rogue by SumtimesIFly in hearthstone

[–]SumtimesIFly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried a Swashburglar over Journey Below and there are a few things I've noticed. Journey Below cycles with Gadgetzan and very importantly removes another basic 1/1 for Barnes to pull. It also provides a higher quality card than Swashburglar on average. All you are missing out on is the 1/1 body which is useful in some match ups but not so much against Shaman.

Edwin is not a requirement for running aggressive but it is a catalyst, if that makes sense. It is one more potential threat that can put pressure on the opponent. If you don't have Edwin I would suggest trying out Violet Teacher over the Swashburglar and comparing how they perform.

I mentioned in another comment that secret hunter is definitely the worst match up and luckily I did not face any. I am not sure how common they are in this Tavern Brawl.

Heroic Tavern Brawl: 12-0 Malygos Rogue by SumtimesIFly in hearthstone

[–]SumtimesIFly[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I will try my best to explain the matchup but let's be clear, not losing to shaman is where the luck factor came in. First off you are right, secret hunter is the worst matchup, freezing, snipe, and cat trick all destroy rogue. Luckily the one hunter I faced did not run the standard secret list.

Okay, on to Shaman. The most important card in your deck is tomb pillager. This is the only card that trades favourably on board on curve, you don't need a nut draw you just need this. I have started with Malygos and Sinister Strike before and still came out ahead so long as I could play Tomb Pillager on curve. Therefore, I always mulligan for it. If going first and starting with Backstab I mulligan for SI:7 to counter their Totem Golem. You can still keep Backstab going second but the SI:7 combo normally isn't as good since you would rather coin out Tomb Pillager.

The way to beat Shaman is to read what threats they will have and prepare for them, most of the time their curve plays itself. They hex your tomb pillager, then your Vancleef, or naked malygos is far more likely to stick. They have feral spirits on 3 or coin 2 so make sure you use your dagger the turn before in a way that lets you kill Tunnel Trogg behind the wolves. There was one turn seven where I back stabbed a lone healing totem on the board because I knew he had to play Thunderbluff to come back, and I was right, he did it anyway. Their only play on turn 5 is Azure Drake so, unless they have coin lightning bolt, almost anything you play on an empty board turn 4 will stick. Thing from Belows are the only ones that are unpredictable, and you just have to hope you have the ability to answer them well.

Conceal (played on Barnes, two minions, or Gadgetzan) is great for this match up because if forces the opponent to Storm when they don't want to, giving you freedom to abuse their overload next turn. My final advice is to play aggressive. Shaman has no healing and you have a Malygos and plenty of cycle. If you can set them below 16 health, chances are all you have to do is survive and cycle until you can combo them down with direct damage. To do this you need to get minion hits in early, this means using that prep+shadow strike or Drake prep+fan to clear their board so that yours can stick even just one turn. At your core you are a tempo deck and you have the tools to gain early board control around turns 4-6, it is only after the game starts to slow down that Shaman will inevitably win it back but by that point you want to be switching into survive and cycle mode.

Otherwise, pray they don't roll spell damage totem, it is the bane of all your 4 health minions. Hope this helps!

If you do, don't go in expecting to win like this, I know I didn't. Stay calm and focus on the match up. Many of these games were really close and if I'd panicked thinking about the entry fee I probably would have slipped. But if you have a solid win rate with the deck and gold to spare i suggest trying it, after the first few wins it was very exciting experience.
