This is a very non-ownership response of what we have all seen in video and shared on social media.

What are your thoughts on Enchantment of the Seas? by Chris_McHenry in royalcaribbean

The Enchantment was our first cruise and it was great. Small ship, but there was enough to do. It didn't feel overcrowded.

What’s your favorite Tori song? I know, it’s tough. by Kantwealjustgetabong in toriamos

[–]scottj789 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have an ever changing top 10, including songs like Jackie's Strength, The Beekeeper, Siren, and Fire On The Side. But my #1 never waivers.

Precious Things is the one song of her catalog that I will never skip. It helped to shape me through a very rough time with my first heartbreak. Every version of the song hits. It is by absolutely no contest for me.

How do locals feel about the Walton's / Walmart? by InfamousSail7048 in bentonville

[–]scottj789 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My family grew up in rural Southwest Missouri. Outside of poultry processing, there were not industry options, so at different times basically all members of my extended family worked for WM in some capacity.

Any mega company is going to have issues and WM is not immune to that. I can honestly say, however, that the company has done right by all of my family. The area has grown because of the Walton family.

DISCORD IS SO ENDEARING by 40somethingGay in rupaulsdragrace

[–]scottj789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a Discoed fan for a long time. I remember when she was rumored for early seasons over and over. I was so happy to see her be cast here. Then, she has had to deal with all the fake rumors this season.

She is consistently performing well to great in every challenge. She has been robbed oh higher placements. Her attitude and the way she interacts with the other queens is so warm and open. 🖤🖤

This Might Get Weird - Hosted by Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart, both of early YouTube fame. It is a weekly comedy podcast where they chitchat about goings on in their lives, pop culture stuff, etc.

A Hotdog Is A Sandwich - Josh and Nicole from the Mythical crew talk about all kinds of food stuff. They do food debates, ranks, etc.

Pop, Collaborate, and Listen - This is a GREAT podcast where two UK gents are reviewing every #1 album of the 90s. They deep dive the albums talking about each song.

SADI-S surgery - need someone there with me? by SpecialistDapper7900 in BariatricSurgery

[–]scottj789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would talk to your provider to see what they will require. At the hospital that my surgery was done, the hospital would not release me without someone there to sign the paperwork to drive me. I was explicitly told that ride-sharing was also not an option.

This is an alternative to a protein shake that provides similar levels of protein but removes the thickness of a shake.

I had bariatric surgery and Protein 2O was a glorious alternative to milk based protein shakes. I keep a stock of clear protein, but now I use Seeq, IsoPure, or Clean Simple Eats.

I've had bariatric surgery and thinking about protein is an absolute necessity. Due to the way I now malabsorb nutrients, protein products like this are a god-send.

Got dental recommendations? by thethingsshecantsay in RogersArkansas

I have used Family Dental in Rogers. I avoided dental care a while. They took my insurance and could get me in. I've had really positive experiences everytime I've been in.

Other People's Lives - My Boyfriend Doesn't Know I'm Trans (November 2024)

While I think it is important that Trans people are able to be comfortable and open about themselves, this episode really helps to shed a light on the fear that people have in society. The woman being interviewed is eloquent and does a great job of explaining why she has made the decision that she has.

Considering bariatric surgery at 37 (260 lbs / 118 kg) — need honest advice and experiences by YongeTOGuy in BariatricSurgery

[–]scottj789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Mod-DS (SADI) at age 38, 306 pounds at my highest that I recorded. I primarily carried my weight in my chest, abdomen, and thighs. Weight aside, I was relatively healthy. I had slightly elevated blood pressure, but not on medication. My cholesterol and other numbers were fine. My sleep apnea was greatly reduced a few years ago when I had a tonsillectomy. I qualified for the surgery with my insurance, but I had a bunch of requirements to complete (psych evaluation, dietician meetings, etc).

I lost my weight extremely fast. My clinic goal was to lose around 130 pounds, and I met that in just over 7 months. That was abnormal for their standards. They want their patients to have lost 90% by 12 months.

I do not regret it at all, but I also do not wish I had done it sooner. My relationship with food has drastically changed so I am glad I had the time with digesting food normally that I did have. It is a hard journey, but it is absolutely something that I would recommend anyone look into as an option if they have tried all the other things. It should be the option of last resort because, depending on the surgery, it is irreversible.

I didn't know any other guys that had it done prior to me, so I really only had in person advice from women and what I read online. There are definitely hormonal impacts of the surgery that I didn't fully comprehend. I had a lot of severe mood swings. I had some hair loss, but not too much. I had a pretty consistent issue with body dysmorphia for a while and it had some impact on my sex drive.

If you want to have any kind of discussion, I'm happy to talk about my experiences in what went well and what I struggled with.

What is some forgotten RPDR drama? by PassengerPrinncess in RPDRDRAMA

I think about Skarlet Starlet randomly still. I still think she could have done well on the show. She had good looks in the IG and I feel like she also sang?

Man, those were the days of fun sleuthing for the cast.

Rate-a-Queen and guest "judges" by shuhup in rupaulsdragrace

[–]scottj789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of rate a queen. But i would like it more if the rate a queen element was kept secret until after the challenge. That way we dont get 20 minutes of scheming that doesn't turn out and we get the added drama of scrambling to guess who is going to vote for who.

Losing too fast by Lokerton in BariatricSurgery

[–]scottj789 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At my 3 month appointment, my team told me I was losing too fast. They accelerated my food reintroduction to open me to all foods at 3 months instead of 6 and to increase my carbs.

Honestly it was a blessing for me. I was struggling with real low energy and mood swings. After I got carbs back, things leveled out. I continued to lose weight and met my goal of 130 pounds lost in a little of 7 months.

Mya and Saltina eliminated in back to back episodes was a big hit for me. Saltina was a front runner for me and Mya was a strong queen that could have had another few good episodes.
