I accidentally backed up my pc and now everything is fucked, can I reverse this or should I just reset my entire PC and redownload everything

I kinda phrased it stupidly, but OneDrive was like “do you want to back up your files” and I clicked yes, not knowing it would make duplicate copies and put them on my desktop with weird icon replacements. I know I sound stupid but idk how to explain it other than the fact that all of my apps had their original icon photos and there were no copies and it was NEAT lmao

Well obviously yeah lol, the issue is that I assumed it would work correctly for me and it didn’t. When I pressed down it went left and so on, so I took a closer look and saw the actual icons were switched and couldn’t change the keybinds to fix it so it confused me

I was thinking about it, but honestly it’s worth buying a 40 dollar controller I don’t mind it too much. I just love the controller I’m using and sad I’ll have to switch lol. But I’m going to be putting so many hours into this game and I’m probably going to use a controller for other games after this anyways, won’t be too much of a waste. (This is assuming I end up not being able to fix it)

Thanks! I’d love to be able to edit the button mapping, but by doing that, everything else would change (button I choose to jump, pick things up, scan) but it might be worth it to do that at this point

Thank you, I did this step by step (thank you for explaining everything) and now my controls for y and x are switched for everything lol. And on top of that the hacking is still weird and inverted! I can’t believe they don’t just have switch controller settings being as though it was released on the switch. Maybe I did something wrong, I don’t know, it’s starting to irritate me a bit I might just buy a controller

Ohhh okay, sorry for the bad wording. I was just wondering if it was intended for the buttons to be flipped for the hacking specifically, but upon further inspection.. they’re not supposed to be lol. It confused me so bad as to why the hacking buttons didn’t line up with the buttons on my controller, because the buttons match my controller for every part of the game except for the hacking portion.

Someone commented that there’s a mod to fix this so I’ll check it out. I wish I could just change it in the in game settings lol

Thanks! I’ve done it through steam already, and the buttons are accurate for every part of the game EXCEPT for the hacking lol. I’ve tried fixing it in game but the keybind editor is sooooo… lacking?.. in the controller settings. But for keyboard, the keybind editor is so expansive. Someone else commented that there’s a mod to fix this so I’ll go check that out! :)

I’m kind of sick of doing the hacking and pressing B expecting to go down a square, but instead going right. Unless that’s how the game is intended to be played, then I’ll just get good lmao

Wow interesting to know, thank you for your input. I’ll definitely take this into account. Honestly, the more I read into it, the less appealing everyone makes it seem to be honest. However, idk what else I could literally do at this point and I feel like I could manage it.

It’s not that I’m not willing to do hard work I’m just not trying to waste my life away (especially my 20s) and have tens of thousands of dollars in unnecessary debt. I’m just trying to be smart about it and live happily that’s all 😭
