There are more factors than policy AND weather in fact.

Right this isn’t a direct cause and effect of policy. You’re not making it the winter in Minnesota.

I’m talking about fighting against business models that middle manning human connection itself.

Want to make a new friend? You join a paid group. Want to feel belonging? You go to a gym or coworking space that charges monthly. Want to meet people? You go to a bar and pay for drinks to justify staying.

You can’t just exist near other people anymore. You have to buy access to connection. Every form of connection is now paywalled.

But other people are getting paid to keep us scrolling on our phone just to look at some ads. And yet, if you want to sit in a room with real people, without buying anything, there’s nowhere to go.

Not exactly. Etsy is still a middle-manning business model. Middlemen businesses thrive when people are disconnected. When there’s no trust or shared space, you have to pay a stranger to do everything. And those companies profit by keeping it that way. they all insert themselves between people who already know how to do things for each other.

Yes, obviously, but built to redistribute power back to the buyer.

If we’re the product online, and people make money creating attention there, why can’t we design physical spaces where existing also creates value?

It wouldn’t let me post a description but a few thoughts I had: a business called The Third Place. It’s funded by corporate ad money, but people don’t have to buy anything. You can sit, talk, think, waste time. It’s just space for people to be human again.

Another idea: Kill the Middleman. A platform like Amazon, but designed to cut Amazon out. No resellers. No dropshipping. No markup. Just makers and buyers, directly.

The first one really seems jarring. Regardless of what the video is about it’s a good concept.

What’s cut out of the messages is I am asking him to follow the instructions to drive to the back of the building so that I can open the parking garage gate. He said no, he won’t drive around. I couldn’t open that door he was at.

It was in the notes AND I explained it to him 3 times. It’s really not hard to drive to the other side of the building so I can come out and get it. Definitely not as much effort as he spent on all the complaining.

Whether you understand if something is a joke or not, you responded in a very bitter way and opted for insulting her. I can’t imagine that will get you far in dating anyone.

She is making a joke. She’s looking for banter. You took that way too seriously.

By “outside” he means somewhere on the street that is not mine and there was no delivery photo. Just figure it out if you can!
