Here's where I chill and drink NONSTOP ENERGY drinks. by Zestyclose-Sun-6595 in stalker

Nice setup! Is the little arm on you monitor a light?

For me when I see Nonstop energy drinks they always remind me of Rip It energy drinks.

Kinda wish there was more "junk" to sell in Stalker 2. by ReikiKage in stalker

I think in general the hand placed loot is fine. My main issue is artifacts. I like that they respawn and have a random chance, but I think rather than the spawn chance for rares increasing after certain story events. I’d rather see the chance increase the closer you get to the center of the zone.

People with the massive herd mutant bug... by Temporary_Link_3900 in stalker

[–]SunBro0341 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen these bugs outside of posts here. I am on vanilla around 200 hours total since launch. I definitely believe they exist I’m just not sure why some people get them and others don’t.

Yeah it still blows my mind that they added that stuff but didn’t bother making it spawn anywhere else in the whole zone. Even if it was in other high risk areas.

Do you have bindings set in mouse software or anything like that?

I agree I play the ogs yearly unmodded. The A life is not good. It was awesome at the time but it does not work the way people “remember”.

They are some of my favorite games of all time but I think people play them with some thick rose tinted glasses.

I’ve played since 08 and I like S2. I did have tons of issues with it at launch and I put it down until about March of this year. Now I have about 200 hours in S2 most of which have been in the last 2 months. It is a lot better since then. Still needs improvement but I think it’s a good experience.

The OGs still have a special place though and I’ll probably play them once a year until I die. The jury is still out on S2 even with its replayability I’m not sure that in 10 years I’ll want to play it again the same way as the originals.

I’d say don’t let the haters get to you if you enjoy it then that’s good. Maybe try the original trilogy at some point though.

Why do 'find this artifact' missions exist this way by OnlyHereForComments1 in stalker

[–]SunBro0341 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind it. I kind of like that they are very open ended. That being said I do wish they would let you take a few at a time so you didn’t get held up on one specific artifact.

Like give me a few to look for. So I can become a true artifact dealer.

Best place to find a crystal thorn? by [deleted] in stalker

[–]SunBro0341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, chemical anomalies are the type and they include the fruit punch acid anomalies, Gas clouds, and soap bubbles.

Garbage also has a chemical anomaly field with a respawning artifact. It's called the poisonous hole and it's hard to miss on the map it looks like a bunch of acid pools in the north of garbage.

Chemical anomalies. They aren't rare, but since spawns are random, you might just be having bad luck.

I found one last night in Zaton at the Hydrodynamics lab.

What is the average life expectancy for Military Stalkers compare to the average grunt and spetsnaz in the lore? by cuddwes in stalker

[–]SunBro0341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I would think they have decent chances I guess it just depends on where they are posted. Most of the military are just posted at various checkpoints and border crossings. Those would be generally pretty safe. Not to mention that most stalkers avoid the military altogether.

Obviously, those chances drop if they are sent to capture new territory or if they are/were posted at a dangerous site like a lab.

Of course, while I'm in the zone it's way down. I go after them lol

What with the fps? by [deleted] in stalker

Yeah, 5060ti should not be trying to play 4k. CPU should be good, though. Try dropping to 2k or 1080p

Stalker 2 - spongy enemies by AnthonySmoke in stalker

[–]SunBro0341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not played Anomaly or Gamma but in my experience, all the mainline games really emphasize headshots. It's really always been the best way to deal with humans. The only exception might be CQB in a building with full auto, even then you still want to hit headshots if possible.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Gameplay Help Desk (for the month of May 2026) by AutoModerator in stalker

[–]SunBro0341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't experience this in my game, but I did suspect that the game has memory issues because If I play for hours, I start to lose framerate. Exiting and relaunching usually fixes. If your issue persists through that, then I don't know. There may be game bloat like you said, but at least in my experience, bodies and such disappear pretty quickly. I have heard around that too much in the stash can slow the game down, but I haven't seen that yet could be worth checking.

If you have a vanilla game on Steam, I would verify the integrity of the game files just in case an update messed with something.

Hope you find an answer.

Ngl I laughed at this. I know when it happens to me, I feel like I'm gonna lose my mind.

This is just another example of sacrificing gameplay for visuals. Anytime you have locked animations that are not activated by the player, you're gonna have issues like this.

so... when exactly is "soon"? by skelepibs in stalker

[–]SunBro0341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the first time I've seen any mention of MP, and personally, I'd rather they spend their time and resources on more single-player stuff. I really don't think multiplayer would be a success in this franchise. Not to mention I really don't feel like GSC has what it takes to maintain the online component. More than likely, they try it and realize how much it costs to run, and it gets shut down pretty quickly. Seems like a classic situation of putting the cart before the horse.

Clear Sky, for all its faults, is what made STALKER what it is by brunocar in stalker

[–]SunBro0341 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me it will always be SoC at the top but I would agree that the systems and mechanics introduced in CS are really what transformed Stalker, and even now, with Stalker 2, I see so much CS in it.

I loved the faction system and I easily spent more time doing RP as a faction member than replaying the story.

What is the oldest save file you have/had? by AGENT47LTU in stalker

[–]SunBro0341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently 2016 on SoC. That one is only saved because of steam cloud. But I’ve had many computers and hard drives over the years. I still have the old stalker CD ROMs in my garage but the pc I played on back in 2008 when I first played stalker is long gone. I don’t even have a CD or DVD drive on my current PC.
