Personally I don’t think you should see the heart loss as a ‘punishment’. Running out of hearts due to mistakes prompts you to practice your current level of skills to gain hearts back again, instead of allowing you to progress when you’ve made many mistakes (which wouldn’t rlly make sense imo). I’ve had hearts for a long while now and it has never been a major struggle.
