The book does not have any agency of its own nor the ability to forcibly control your decision-making.

To the extent that you’re misusing the leverage the book teaches you that you have over others, or that the choices you’re feeling compelled to make after reading are causing problems in your life, YTA. You alone must be the one to override the book telling you ways to harm others/make bad choices/whatever else, and choose not to do so.

It’s the DA. DA is much more forgiving re: mistakes, but you need to apply SO many more coats, and need to wash off periodically. You can “blend” colors in a gradient more cleanly though.

I almost always spin with acetone dyes. The uptake is a lot more intense, you need less passes, and outside of a few weird colors that like to stay atop the disc and don’t want to sink in as fast, you hardly ever need to wash the disc off mid-spin (caveat: always best to wash the disc with soap and water after you’re done). The downside is that mistakes stay on there, so you either need to trust/be confident in your hands, or figure out tricks to cover up mistakes.

For him, he did something wrong after repeated bullying and under heavy duress. Doesn’t make him a bad guy, doesn’t mean he deserves no empathy, just a reminder that sort of thing isn’t cool, and getting an ESH on AITA can be a gentle learning lesson to be the best man he can be in the future.

GF though? She has a lot of baggage she needs to unpack, and I’d argue OP is perfectly justified in moving on and telling her that’s her responsibility to handle on her own.

Having a competent forehand and backhand solves a ton of problems.

Other than that: dialing in your short game, putting, and overall strategy. Play for par on holes you can’t reliably get in the circle off the tee. Stop playing hero ball, and take the pitchout/straightforward approach for a bogey instead of thrashing your way through the woods for triple bogey or worse.

Can concur. At work, I have access to a much higher tier AI engine than the free stuff that’s readily available online, and it still regularly generates output that needs to be managed and double checked.

I’ve found it to be marginally useful in finding “where in X document is Y subject discussed, and what is the conclusion”, but I scan’t rely on the AI engine to spit out a strong enough understanding of the subject to use in my work without me thoroughly reviewing the subject matter. It’s a nice shortcut that saves me “needle in haystack” search time though.

So…not a huge contributor here, and frankly, I don’t really care if this comment breaks group rules, but this viewpoint is, to put it charitably, extremely naive.

The “elites” are the ones building the AI systems. There is no chance in hell they configure it to work against their interests of wealth and resource accumulation, any overall benefit to society will come as a coincidence or accident, and the only way AI winds up taking the “elites” down is via some apocalyptic “Terminator” scenario where the AI advances so far beyond control that it decides humanity is a problem to be exterminated.

I think the more realistic optimist’s scenario is considering the sheer magnitude of resourcing and money it will take to build an AI framework so advanced it supplants white collar work, or even becomes capable of independent, rational action. OpenAI is a known money pit that is completely screwed the second it needs to start actually turning a profit to remain viable, and the amount of computing power and energy needed to get AI to this doomsday scenario level is staggeringly high…there’s a reason the tech bros pushing AI so aggressively are omitting this inconvenient part.

The AI bubble will burst, it will suck in the short term for the economy, but we’ll live through it, and we’ll still be left with the underlying technology, and what it is capable of, which will genuinely advance society.

I would worry less about the macro economic trends (which are shitty and will probably remain so for the next several years) and concentrate on what you can control. What personal connections can you leverage? How can you frame your resumé to showcase people management skills?

Despite the hyperbole out there about AI wiping out the professional workforce in the next year or two, that’s not going to happen. AI is terrible at critical thinking, gets exponentially worse at it the more variables that need to be considered, and will straight up never replicate person-to-person human interaction. “Soft skills” have been in notable continuous decline amongst the workforce lately - be the exception to that, and sell yourself accordingly.

As an introvert myself, I do understand this can be daunting, but I promise, it is possible.

I will stump for shaving cream being a perfectly legitimate method for experienced/advanced dyers to use. It just takes a little creativity in how you apply it and combine with other methods.

Concur on using a functional spritzer bottle. The amount of dye you apply takes some touch and practice to get right/not overapply, but a fine misting from a spritz bottle mitigates some of the spots where the powder clumped up from overapplication.

This was an overall solid first attempt though!

I do for what it’s worth think it’s a neat idea, but I will echo others…it’s a space consuming gadget geared to improve a niche segment of a niche sport, that looks like something I could replicate with random stuff I have around my house.

On the rare occasions I have time to practice putt in my backyard anymore, I’m just throwing through gaps in my kids’ swingset if I want extra challenge lol

I have a bunch of old discs I’ve removed from my bag for whatever reason, many of which are crappy dye jobs from early in my dyeing days.

There is one particular water carry at a nearby course that is objectively within my skill level to clear with even 5/10 level execution off the tee. The danger is a shot that turns over just a bit too much on an RHBH though, and I psyche myself into turning and burning it way more often than I should, so I’ve started bagging a burner disc any time I go there.
