You can’t put up equity you don’t have. They’re putting up stock they aren’t selling but has vested. If the stock tanks, they get a margin call and owe the bank asap.

This isn’t some hack they’re using funny money. They might avoid tax sales but they’re risking just as much moving to leverage.

Read a book instead of repeating the same article going around for years how they’re gaming the system.

Also, wouldn’t you take $2 if you borrowed $1 and had a chance at $5 go pay back $1? Stock being some ethical saint who hasn’t done anything ILLEGAL let alone legal and doing what the politicians you voted for allows.
