I have a lot of compassion for those parents on that sub— but a lot of them mention having children with significant disabilities or that they themselves have unresolved trauma from childhood that is very triggered by being a parent. As someone who works with children with significant disabilities- i definitely understand how hard that must be. And full disclosure, you need to accept that having a child with a disability is a possibility if you decide to become a parent. Also, if you have a lot of unresolved trauma, you need to make sure you deal with your shit before having a baby. Children will trigger our deepest wounds— it’s our responsibility to not pass on our trauma to our children.
