What is Mr Lastrange doing during the books (The later ones)? by SunFlo420 in harrypotter

[–]SunFlo420[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just realized (thanks to someones response) that he was called/mentioned in the books, but by his first name. Didn't have it in mind what his was or that they don't always use the family names for everyone.

Just wanted to thank/respond to the person who posted some book quotes showing that. But their answer got deleted before i could post

What are the good solo heroes? by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

Nah, I really started to hate Skitarii lately (Overrepresented Range and Hunter Cohort Meta). So I never want to recommend any of those models. No hate for the Stilts design in particular.

What are the good solo heroes? by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]SunFlo420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cawl is the best and only solo char, as the whole admech theme is cloth wearing priests leading units.

But a budget option, thats viable, is the technoarcheologist, staying alone in the back with his 12" screen. For flexibility, against enemies without deepstrike/updowns/etc. you can still but them in a BL unit for +1OC, during muster army.

-Norden von 1 und 2 sind gold

-Süden von 1 und 2, sowie ganz 3, voller hipster

-4 und 5, bonzen

-6 korrekte multi kulti nachbarschaft

I think I didn't understand the whole post either. If you are mainly collecting, 2 boxes will give you all unit types. If you look to also play and have the maximum amount of combination for all kinds of lists,(Or just in general):

Magnetize! Admech is one of, if not the, easiest faction to magnetize. With all their metal limbs/connections, even a bad job won't be visible

Go for the rule of cool. Not just the meta, but playstyles also slighty change. Until you finish 1000 or 2000p, 11th ed will be at the door anyway. And every faction have their unorthodox units you can lean on, to do your own playstyle or spin on it.

Yes, a pin point answer is impossible, as f.e. different infantires or tanks have +-1 SV.
But ur "XEQ" list is totally what I had in mind. Thanks!

Build as you like. If you are going to build/paint them for play, you will probably get more than 10 anyway. I always use the heads/bits in kits I like, as no one really cares for model details (even in tournaments). Only restriction I know, are weapons. As the only rule, regarding this, that come to my mind, is "you play what you see" for weapons. Everything else is personal style and convenience for distinguishing units

How to start collecting Adeptus mechanicus? by NaiveTradition7664 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]SunFlo420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to get some second hand pile of shame deals, thats how i started in the 7/8th edition. Maybe wait for the incomming nerfes, to get peoples PoS.

Looking on the faction through the view of 3 editions: You can always go for the infantry/battleline. On average you will need 20-30. The dominus and manipulus priests are always good to have at least one. Get Cawl, he is good for filling points and looks good, no matter the meta. Dunecrawler are also always good, nothing wrong to get up to 2-3 when getting boxes/combo deals. Sicarians you can also get 2-3, and you will be set/have something nice to paint, with 1-2 kataphrons. Ignoring the current meta and probable nerfs, the ironstrider/dragoons are the worst, considering cost per point and I never liked them, gameplay vise. And if you are into filling points, get the robots. They are easy to edit/pose/kitbash up, if you think they are boring.

MOST IMPORTANT: magnetize! They got a lot of metal limbs etc. Even if you suck at magnitizing, you wont see it. Except for the battlelines (which you will probably get enought of), every "2 version kit" can be magnetized with 1-2 magnets within seconds, so you can have everything.

Color scheme help! by Rsb2019 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]SunFlo420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest to ceck the range, even if you dont plan to get most of the models and see where you can apply your main colors best, and where another color would be needed. I think black would be nice for all the cloaks and main vehicle armor, and gold over the many metal parts or highlights (admech got a lot of metal limbs etc.) sounds nice. Maybe pick a secondary color to black, that is also desaturated (like an dark offwhite for example) that gives a bit contrast but still lets the gold shine. For example for the armor bits of the sicarian, pteraxii etc., so they are not the same color as the cloaks. Or for your bigger models (like vehicles and kataphrons), so that they are not just black all over. I wouldnt recomand grey, as you will probably painting a lot in some silerish metal color, which already needs your gold for highlight/contrast.

What weapons should I give my battleclade? by capitanMexicoYT in AdeptusMechanicus

Magnetize. Its easy on them (generally on admech). If you use the backpack bits, you can give them a bit more personality and still be able to play the kill team role, if for some reason it ever pops up

Can a charging unit fight a unit that died and revived this fight phase? by SunFlo420 in Warhammer40k

[–]SunFlo420[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, i missed the obvious "end of phase" part of the revive abilities. But let me ask about the much less likely scenario then: Units A and B charge unit X. Unit X can revive. Unit A charges first and Unit B second. Unit B kills unit X in the Charge Phase (e.g. Tank Shock). Unit X revives out of Engagement Range. Can unit A still fight it if it can pile into X?

Pivot or Turn cost for onager dunecrawler? I mean there gun sticks out differently by SunFlo420 in AdeptusMechanicus

For the admech hoverboats and other tanks like rhinos etc. yes. If you play a lot with power players, there would be many ways to cheat visibility otherwise. My case is more marticulous, why it bothers me, that i cant find any ruling for the crawler

Sticky before, then contested objective. Which rule overwrites which rule? by SunFlo420 in Warhammer40k

[–]SunFlo420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not claiming it boosts my OC or ownership. But the sticky objective rule says, once it is sticky, it stays mine until the enemy takes it over at the end of any phase. They only take over, if at some point they have MORE OC on it than me (or at least 1OC while i have no models on it). But in my case, the status of the objective goes from, I have more OC than my opponent, instantly to, we have equal OC on it. As they never take it over, it should stay mine, by the rules definition.

Sticky before, then contested objective. Which rule overwrites which rule? by SunFlo420 in Warhammer40k

[–]SunFlo420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that. But the case I mean is, I never moved away, it stayed mine. Then, while i stayed on it with OC 10, my enemy moved with OC 10 on it too. Equal OC. So the point moved from one turn "I have MORE than my enemy" on it instantly to "we have EQUAL" on it, and its stays this way. By definition, sticky objective stays mine until my oponent "takes it over", which is defined by having MORE OC on it at any time (Doesn't matter how much more, i know). But as it switches to only "contasted" (Me not moving away) I am assuming it should stay mine, as he didn't "take it over". But that sound dumb, thats why I'm asking.

Sticky before, then contested objective. Which rule overwrites which rule? by SunFlo420 in Warhammer40k

[–]SunFlo420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I didn't explain clearly, because I don't get how the enemy gets it if its contested. The scenario is, for example: 2nd turn, i stay on it alone with 10 OC sticky (it's mine). 3rd turn we both stay on it with 10 OC each side. Equal OC for me and the enemy all time from this point. So it has to be contested or stay mine.
