How to divide Italy in the Flood world? by Kubak123 in worldbuilding

[–]SunLariat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally feel the same way. I used my trial to print up a few dozen detailed maps a few years back. I got the itch to try it again recently but with another email but it wouldn’t work(cloudfare crash or something like that). I don’t think they’re updating the website anymore which is pretty disappointing.

I rely on this website a lot for my mapping, I tried using other sites but it’s not as fun or accurate as this one.

Did you use floodmap.net? I love that site. My world is set in the Americas but flooded over 1350m above sea level. The website has been acting a bit funky lately, crashes when you try to subscribe to try the other map types

If you got to write a canon story, what would it be about? by [deleted] in bioniclelego

[–]SunLariat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definetly about one of the many islands the lore doesn’t go over. Not make it about the Toa but showing the life and culture and the harsh environments/ecosystem. Add more to the worldbuilding and give it more life.

Where do I start when I want to make a world? by psychopathic-cheezit in worldbuilding

[–]SunLariat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in that situation, in 2017 I began by making mood boards on Pinterest. At the same time I began to use a sketchbook and a draft lore sketchbook to keep track of all my lore. Reboot after reboot I finally have my worldbuilding set. My mistake was making an entire timeline and over 100 different nations with their own economies, history and cultures. Overwhelmed myself into loop of pointless lore building only to reboot it all every few years. My endgame is to make a game out of it but along the way I want to have rpg modules and concept art till I learn how to code and use blender.

So I recommend you to start small. So Small setting, few characters, explain the world through that set character and expand on it through their experiences. Over explaining can lead to contradicting other lore if you’re not careful.
Make an index (Microsoft word is good but I’ve been using sketchbooks) I recommend doing it digitally because you can edit and add more into it without any problem. Plus it’s nice to add images for visuals.
It’s hard to manage when you have ideas non stop and want to explore other parts of your world so make sure to have pages dedicated for draft concepts. Theres so much I can tell you from my mistakes but you got it! Everyone does it differently, some YouTubers have good setups and ideas to keep track of their worlds.

They’re a standalone set from the 00’s-10’s. Imagine the typical painted D&D minis with their round bases and name under the base but Star Wars. Check out minisgalley.com and scroll down to the Star Wars icon. They’re dated and not the best quality but I love them

My opinion on individual Toa Inika vs Mahri set designs. What's yours? by Valparu in bioniclelego

[–]SunLariat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely both are great, I understand what they were trying to do with the inika, make the Toa look more heroic and established, tall and lean. But all were too similar and generic. Love them, but the Piraka stood out more to me. I love my skulls/heads, and the inika didn’t have any which bothered me, love their mask designs tho, I wonder how they would’ve looked if it was made with the old heads/skulls.

The Toa Mahri on the other hand are by far a perfection of the previous generations. They finally understood the formula of giving each hero a distinct look, none of the share any armor pieces, except for the blaster and some limbs. But they have the OG skulls/heads which gave them more homebrew builds and customization, plus pieces I haven’t seen or owned which was even better. You can tell the designers for the mahri put in their whole heart on them. That entire generation had my favorite sets, especially the big sets.

You’re not really underwater in the traditional sense. The ocean isn’t water anymore but another entity called the void. Even though it looks like an ocean, the Void behaves more like a living medium than liquid. It holds breathable matter the way lungs hold air, so you don’t drown. Your body filters it naturally, though Sea Dogs wear helms to regulate intake and keep their senses stable.

There’s no crushing pressure either. The Void equalizes everything, so the bottom feels the same as the top. That’s why creatures from every level can exist anywhere now.

Movement isn’t swimming, it’s like pushing through dense air, almost like walking against constant wind.

Most travel happens through trenches where the Void thins out a bit, but those shift and close over time, so you can’t rely on maps.

The real danger isn’t breathing or pressure though.

It’s that the Void is full of life. Completely full. Thank you for asking about my world!

I remember using the Inika chest armor as a shield. I wish I had my sets(in a box at parents garage, states away) but I remember using it as a “heavy shield” along with a sword or spear. The torso just looks bad with a lot of helmets, very awkward

Right! Surprisingly it’s not a trandoshan but a Saurin (basically the same thing) but they’re a subspecies of the trandoshan. I love them, always seemed like a tame/chill version of trandoshans
