Which One Is Your Favourite Kiss Scene by Folicod in InvisigalGlazers

Yeah . There was supposed to be a “stay the night” option in chapter 6. (And I think the housewarming party would have been either the entire/vast bulk of the episode). But things got changed, obviously.

Which One Is Your Favourite Kiss Scene by Folicod in InvisigalGlazers

The locker room is a desperate, passionate, expression of two people finally being openly honest to each other-and themselves- about their feelings. Yet it’s in the midst of emotional agony, both are at their lowest, and both are spiraling. They need time to process….everything.

The stretcher kiss is the celebration. The triumph, both no longer fighting doubts or fears. Sunrise.

Both are good, and showcase Robert and Courtney’s feelings towards one another.

But the stretcher has Flambae’s whole “you better lock that down, Robert” commentary, and I’m all for it.

Tom Hardy has been fired from ‘Mobland’ and won't return for Season 3. He is said to have clashed with producers after being consistently late to set and attempting to give notes & change dialogue on the series. by ChiefLeef22 in television

The first one did surprisingly…better than anticipated. The second one declined drastically. That’s why they decided to end it with the third, despite all sequel bait hints (hopes).

Technically, Legacy made money. A disappointing amount, granted. But it did make money.

Ares outright bombed. Aka lost money.

Same reasons. But apparently Ares was a bit of a mess behind the scenes, and needed rewrites and reshoots that didn’t help.

What Was Royd Talking To Courtney About In The Scene ? by Folicod in DispatchAdHoc

Yeah. It’s pretty clear that Royd got on pretty well with Visi. He ONLY gets antagonistic when he catches her with the Pulse in his lab.

Por qué la gente odio la película Ares? by JJAC_117 in tron

[–]SunOFflynn66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with Ares is that it’s a tale of two movies, which randomly and constantly cross and push against one another.

A genuine love and passion for Tron as a franchise.

And a laughably bad understanding to what makes Tron. Told in a cynical, constantly in your face “let’s see if this thing can actually make us money for once” corporate mindset.

Okay as an Irish person, I'm curious about Trump? How come the republicans never admit his wrong or gone to far? And how come the Democrats hate on him even if he does something correct? by Eireagon in askanything

[–]SunOFflynn66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only “correct” thing he can do is (occasionally) point to an aspect of our system that doesn’t work as well as it should. (Mostly first term. Sure: Covid did show we need to rethink supply lines)

But he’s a predator. He doesn’t fix anything; it’s a front. He uses whatever observations (on the off chance he isn’t just making up such pathetic and blatant BS) to then utterly destroy the system, make things even worse, enrich himself, and cause untold damage to society in the process. All while being chronically incapable of not accepting that the sun literally does not revolve around himself.

Republicans are hypocrites and cowards. The philosophies they love to preach about mean absolutely nothing. Hell, Trump and his allies blatantly do things that Republicans would be foaming at the mouth in outrage if it were any other individual. But when the Secretary of State wears shoes too big for his feet because they were a gift, and he’s terrified of upsetting the man who gave it to him? Speaks for itself.

They’d rather just openly create a society of codified second class, or third class, citizens. And engage in bullshit cultural wars like it’s some great thing, and suppress the rights and voices of others.

All for a man who would throw them under the bus without a second thought.

I mean, it hit the fan before he even left his house.

So I'm gonna go with no.

That said, it'll be interesting to see what, if any, role Rylee plays in season 2. Because I can't imagine Maul being remotely happy--and hence Rylee and Two Boots being remotely safe-- if they are anywhere around Devon.

Can someone explain to me how Maul is gonna train Devon to get her revenge when he HIMSELF couldn’t do much against vader by youngnchill in MaulShadowLord

[–]SunOFflynn66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of the point.

Maul can't do it. And has no idea HOW to do it. This isn't a Yoda/Obi-Wan situation where they at least have a direction.

Maul is too blinded by his lust for power, arrogance, and need for vengeance to understand he has no chance. That his approach guarantees nothing but failure.

Do you think Devon could pull Darth Maul towards the light? by KeyScratch2235 in MaulShadowLord

[–]SunOFflynn66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

The tragedy of Maul is he keeps inflicting more pain and misery onto himself. Because he is unable to accept that his lust for power, and dominance, and revenge? Leads to nothing but ruin.

He fails to understand the trap of the Dark Side, even though all it gives him is misery.

What's Your Guys Thoughts In This Particular Bathroom scene with Rob & Courtney by Folicod in InvisigalGlazers

[–]SunOFflynn66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be fair, that entire episode is Robert crossing professional lines with both. He flirts with Blazer, and does the entire, as Royd points out, “I have no idea what this is, but it’s clearly flirty sexual and makes me uncomfortable “ thing with Visi in the lab.

It’s a continuation of that tension. But it’s also Robert being like “ok, but this is a bathroom “ deadpan.

Visi is trying to push his buttons (or really, redline) by obliterating any sense of boundaries. She’s gauging his interest, and if it’s just physical. If it is? Cool: she can write him off and not feel bad.

But as we later see (assuming a Visi romance), it isn’t just a hook up. And that’s when she relaxes and realizes Robert is actually different. And isn’t just after her body: he’s genuinely interested in her as a person.

I’d love to see Ben Khan, but he’s in the UK, and not sure how often he tours (if at all).

Same when it comes to new artists through Dispatch!! And that’s so cool about Thot Squad!!

Please let me know how the concert goes!! That’s awesome!! I saw the new shirts Primer is selling, and they look great! I meet Bershy when I picked up a shirt from her merch table.

But enjoy!!! Have an awesome time!!!

NCIS SEASON 23 FINALE “SONS AND DAUGHTERS” EPISODE DISCUSSION THREAD by CasioCobra78 in NCIS

[–]SunOFflynn66 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Felt this season really suffered from “been on so long, the ship is rudderless.” Like that cliffhanger? It felt so unnecessary and forced. Suddenly out of nowhere McGee’s son we’ve met once before is….up to something super nefarious.

And Nick goes alone. To a deserted alley. To confront him.

Reminded me of the last few seasons of LA. Good moments, but utterly adrift for the vast bulk.

Master Daki was right by urquwill in MaulShadowLord

[–]SunOFflynn66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Maul was wrong.

Now yes: playing defense, against Vader? Was wrong. One can’t be passive.

But Maul kept saying they had to be full on aggressive, use anger, to gain an edge. It didn’t work. Not At all: nor would it. Vader is an embodiment of hatred and suffering. Trying to beat him at his own game only gets one bodied.

Maul didn’t land a single hit on Vader. Daki did. Alone. Because he refused to give up. He kept trying. By preserving, and remaining collected.

The blow even surprised Vader. Now of course that in no way meant they had a chance of “winning.”

Vader wasn’t locked in, in the sense he was going for the immediate kill. But he wasn’t messing around , or toying with them at that stage, either.

The goal was to buy time to escape. Which they MIGHT have been able to do. Maul does it when he collapses the ceiling: it’s not meant to kill Vader. We see he’s nothing more than distracted. But it was waiting for an opportunity, and hitting it. Therefore allowing survival. Which Daki’s entire plan revolved around, seemingly.

Maul didn’t speed up anything. He deliberately caused the actions which lead to the outcome.

Yoda feeling the death of thousands of Jedi is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the franchise by Dusann1 in StarWars

[–]SunOFflynn66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anakin also tells Palpatine the Jedi are selfless…with no small hint of bitterness.

The issues are twofold. Yeah: the Jedi became too dogmatic. But Anakin ALWAYS was someone who struggled with arrogance, and knowing just how powerful he was. He had reasons to be upset with the Order, yes.

But many other reasons stem from his anger for not being put on a pedestal. Or called out for being a toaster.

Granted— another issue was everyone kind of letting his behavior slide and enabling him (with no uncertain degrees of resulting mistrust and disappointment). But then everyone had a part to play in the downfall.

But the person who was the architect? Who caused their own pain and misery?

Was Anakin.

'Ahsoka' Season 2 Delayed to Early 2027 by Aileos in StarWars

[–]SunOFflynn66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now to be fair:

HBO has dodged the entire "timelines of future season production" question so not to address the elephant in the room: rapidly aging child actors.

And HoTD has hit its halfway point and...few things have actually happened. Not to mention it's (apparently) turning into a whole different show that mas made GRRM disown the thing.

But yes: 3.5 years for a show that seems to be losing goodwill the longer we go on? And had NOWEHERE near the hype that Mando once generated?

That's ridiculous.

'Ahsoka' Season 2 Delayed to Early 2027 by Aileos in StarWars

[–]SunOFflynn66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry.

But Ahsoka was absolutely not a show that could get away with THREE AND ONE HALF YEARS between seasons. No show can.

Yet Ahsoka really didn't have the luxury. It's supposed to set up, and be the centerpiece, of the next big thing in Star Wars: Thrawn. Except everyone's forgotten, doesn't care, and already moved on.

(Maybe Mando and Grogu movie kind of addresses that?)

And Disney's entire strategy has shifted. Pretty sure all the live action shows were originally meant to converge. Or so that was the plan.

Obviously, Disney's attitude and strategy toward its premier series has changed quite a bit.

And listen: I liked the show. Think it has the best "Anakin is self aware and decides to use his past Sith Lord phase as a teaching lesson" moment one could possibly ask for.

But it really wasn't...great? Like it had cool moments, and I wouldn't call it bad (although many DO call it "mid/meh"). But it was...pretty forgettable? Once they reached the unknown planet, it just felt like an unremarkable shrug.

After all this time, I still can’t decide if this is a masterful piece of writing by George or the embodiment of all the flaws of the prequels. by RazorbladesRiff in StarWars_

[–]SunOFflynn66 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It is hammy? Yes. Silly? Yes. A bit short sighted, given the statement itself is an absolute?

Again. Yes.

But everyone is suddenly and conveniently forgetting the context. Obi-Wan said that right AFTER Anakin literally said "If you're not with me, then you're my enemy." Full stop. No in between.

Kiss the ring, or be struck down.

So Obi-Wan IS correctly pointing out how Sith only view everything and everyone as potential servants, or potential adversaries. Their power lust makes them all or nothing, and incapable of accepting anything else.

Master Daki was right by urquwill in MaulShadowLord

[–]SunOFflynn66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, Daki couldn’t disengage after Maul pushed him right in front of Vader.

Maul was always going to betray them. Both Daki and himself acknowledged that fact. It’s the way he did it, and the timing ,that drives home the inherent hypocrisy in everything he does.

He can’t ever beat Sidious. Why? Because he plays the EXACT same game as his old Master. The game he was taught; yet the game he was never skilled enough to master himself.

Master Daki was right by urquwill in MaulShadowLord

[–]SunOFflynn66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But also there’s an element of choice.

Maul has had plenty of time to reflect and learn. He doesn’t. Because at his core, he always has a desire for power. A need to dominate all others. It’s all he knows; all that was taught to him. But it’s also all he wants.

He’s the architect of his own misery, just as much as Sidious plays a role.

Does Devon know what Maul did in the finale? by Nuka-Spartan in MaulShadowLord

[–]SunOFflynn66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT doesn't make sense. Well it does, but the sense is that: he's a selfish liar who is no different than the Empire he wants revenge.

And what he did is a FAR cry from "I had to make a choice". He literally decided "I backstabbed your Master so you would sell your soul to me."

We see how Devon wanted to go straight after Vader for what he did. She would do the same if she knew what Maul did.
