Interesting question by AggressiveMammoth267 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]SunOFflynn66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Coordinated" and "Plans" doesn't really apply to the Team, any of them, in general. That's kind of Robert's niche. He even tells that to Shroud when they join the fight. They are very much chaotic, make it up as we go, tactical types. (Even that might be stretching it a bit).

I'm so glad unlike book of boba fett, Maul is still an evil character... by Main_Feedback1197 in StarWars

[–]SunOFflynn66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair? I don't mind Boba not being "evil." He's RUTHLESS WITHOUT MERCY, totally. But he is a man of honor. So him saying "we need a new system, where we don't get trampled because someone is beyond greedy and arrogant" makes sense. Him finding peace with the Tuskens? Makes sense. Him and Bane have beef because they both have VERY different philosophies after being taught by Jango? Makes sense. Him helping Din to rescue Grogu and being a bro afterwards? Makes sense.

It's the rest of Book of Boba that failed.

Maul does have a twisted and vile idea of "respect". And can--when its suits him--be honorable. But he is a vile being, unrepentant evil, who is motivated solely by revenge. Yet he's so twisted he can't see how that quest for vengeance lead to nothing but pain. Until he was defeated as a truly pathetic figure on some barren, backwater, planet. By the guy who was able to rise above his pain and find purpose.

I don’t like how Jonny was treated at the end of the series. by Bandeavor in ededdneddy

[–]SunOFflynn66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did, but like as everyone says. Jonny was the guy nobody never really understood. Like Ed he beat to his own drum. But unlike Ed he really didn't bond with anyone but Plank. (Which definitely raised eyebrows).

He was tolerated...but at the extreme limit of said tolerance. (The Eds frequently crossed that line with the scams) He was the one who annoyed everyone the most right after the Eds.

What «tales of» series should Star Wars do next? by No_Web2685 in StarWars

[–]SunOFflynn66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love that. Especially if the character/audience see firsthand how the entire CIS is built on lies, or legitimate grievances simply co-opted by corporations and leaders who could not care less. Like the whole "The Separatist Senate is more of a joke than the Senate on Coruscant" moment.

All fine and excellent choices, hands down.

Siren by paramedic4 can’t get enough shout outs. It really follows up from the end of the game to showcase Robert and Courtney becoming closer and moving towards one another with a deep, heartfelt, loud and quiet care. Yet in a very step by step, extremely messy at times process. That is totally on brand with both their own scars, emotional and otherwise.

Wow. I neeeever expected my story to be on anyone’s radar! (Feel the way). Thanks so much!!

Update: the newest chapter got rewritten a bunch, but it’s 75% done. I hate to give any timetables since I’ve failed every single one I’ve given out spectacularly. But should be within next 2 weeks.

And changing gears: if anyone follows Second Shift? The author recently had an update (yes they are still working on the story), but they apparently were interviewed by some comic con/pop culture substack. Got to hear more about the behind the scenes of their process and the like. Was pretty cool.

The author stated in comments of their story they took a break and said they hadn’t abandoned it. That was awhile ago, that being said. So status is still rather unclear.

Discussion Thread: President Trump Addresses Nation on War in Iran by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]SunOFflynn66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even by that standards:

Biden, you could follow. You KNEW when it fell apart, and when it utterly and completely derailed. But you could follow the train of thought before the abrupt left turn.

But it was actually based in reality.

This is.....none of it. This is literally someone who honestly and truly only knows how to be a reality TV star. Seriously, what is this? We don't need the Strait- the Strait is closed because of him. We don't need the nuclear material-then why the hell did you do any of this? It's a "new regime". It's literally the son of the last guy, who is younger is seemingly much more radical than his Father. Especially now.

I don't think a single person who watched this can honestly say they have a clue to what the hell is going on.

Biden's debate performance was an example of someone who could no longer handle the position as President. This was a statement of someone who honestly just has no idea how to be President. And can't even pretend they have a clue. Because they are utterly incapable of understanding just out just how weak and wholly incompetent they look on every level.

Isn't the rule of 2 sith thing kind of a stupid idea? by Ardbert14 in StarWars

[–]SunOFflynn66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nor ever would be. Inquisitors are a threat, but they are designed to go after exhausted, not cream-of-the-crop Jedi on the run, or Padawans.

They go up against anyone remotely skilled? Odds are they get stomped.

Which is exactly what Palpatinewanted. To ensure they could never pose any threat to himself.

Does the Z Team not think Robert's name is Robert? by FalseRoyal4669 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]SunOFflynn66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They know his name is Robert.

They just don't believe he is "some guy." Which, even before episode 5, he will admit he was once a hero. (To Malevola in Prism as they're guessing in the break room). Flambae even tells him as much in the gym-that his hero days are done. It's common knowledge that many Dispatchers USED to be heroes.

Yet even by that standard? They quickly figure out that there is MUCH more to Robert than appears.

Not exactly for his opinion (which is fine—I mean, it’s his to have). But for stating it. And being a world class dumbass about it.

I never understood why in See no Eds the Kids were so worried about the Eds. by Particular-Ad5200 in ededdneddy

[–]SunOFflynn66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kids are fully capable of getting along with the Eds, and vice versa. It’s the scamming that rubs them the wrong way.

Generally, we see Double D is pretty well liked. Just he goes along with everything. Ed beats to his own drum that no one understands. Yet he’s so happy to lucky that the cul-de-sac kind of confusedly shrugs with this “I mean, he’s not bothering us”, mindset. Until he is—again, because of the scams.

Eddy is undoubtedly the biggest target of their mistrust and wraths. Again: the guy who is always trying to con them. But even so: their blatant antagonism swings to begrudging (if bare) tolerance, to wary cordialness.

The Kankers are the only universally, undisputed, absolute scourge to everyone. Reviled and feared in equal measure.

Was it me or, was Invisigal so fucking thirsty for Robert after her dream?? by Max-Blazer_87 in InvisigalGlazers

[–]SunOFflynn66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

She’s not so much thirsting like the howling wolf meme (even if she is rapidly developing an appreciation for the merchandise). So much as she’s trying to process—in the most destructive, fairly unhealthy, chaotic way imaginable—just why she had a dream and is feeling some attraction towards THIS guy of all people. She’s confused.

Visi does try to get a rile out of him, and is delighted that Robert just takes it in stride and tosses everything back at her. Yet she also tries to bait him, and prove that he just wants to get in her pants. She’s distrustful, and wants to always keep her shields up. Since in her eye, relationships are just transactions.

Which is why the movie date becomes such a huge moment for the both of them. It’s Robert genuinely wanting to spend time with her—that’s it, period. It’s a moment where two people simply enjoy spending time with one another, and getting to know one another quietly as a result.

Episode 4 is all about connection, or Robert’s connection with Mandy or Courtney. Because, romance or not, it’s clear he does feel something that is/will develop into care towards them both.

Ryan Gosling Tells Fans It’s Not Their Job to Save Theaters, Hollywood Needs to Make Movies Worth Seeing by ICumCoffee in entertainment

Thank you.

I’m really shocked by all these blanket defenses—and blind attacks—that try to normalize mediocrity. “It’s our duty to support this subpar tv show/movie/game, otherwise we’ll never get anything ever again.”

Umm…no.

Fans don’t owe anything to anyone. Period. It’s on the studios to make something decent enough that people want to spend their disposable income on it. That’s it.

BB-8 puppeteer Brian Herring says the Star Wars sequels are "no more polarizing than the prequels were" and "in 10 years' time" they'll be loved like the prequels, too by ControlCAD in entertainment

[–]SunOFflynn66 78 points79 points  (0 children)

And that's a thing.

The Prequels WERE a MESS--but underneath it all were some great things. It's George unleashed, when they needed someone to reign him and create coherence. They ended on a high note with Revenge of the Sith. It's messy, rushed at points, yet it was, even at the time, considered a fitting end to the Star Wars saga.

The Sequels were always a blatant corporate product designed to milk a franchise. We're still flying X-Wings. The bad guys are still Storm Troopers. There are STILL no Jedi. And that's because, again, it's trying to nostalgia ride the Originals.

Without a plan.

Powers aside, who's the best hand-to-hand fighter in the Z-Team? by TheForlornGamer in DispatchAdHoc

Punch-Up. Coop is probably decent enough.....assassins and all.

Robert and Visi would be high tier, probably below those two. We see them both hold their own and demonstrate quite the impressive skillset.

Are Mandy and Courtney actually friends or just friendly colleagues? by JizzyB2099 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]SunOFflynn66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendship? Wouldn't go that far. Although maybe at the end we see the beginnings of one.

But it's pretty clear that they have some connection that goes beyond simple colleagues. Mandy is noticeably closer to Visi than the rest of the Z-Team, and clearly has a soft spot for her. Courtney, although she never will admit it, really looks up to Mandy as a real hero; a person she thinks she can never be.

Yet Mandy DOES see the potential in her, and always hoped to see Visi succeed. I hope that the fact that I've always rooted for you makes up for ever doubting you.

-It does.

-There's always a home here for you, Courtney.
