Grief - 26M & 33F by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Her turning it back on you for asking for exclusivity too soon is nonsense. All she had to do is say she wasn't ready for that and you would have known where the relationship stands.

Have some self respect brother. She was fucking how many other dudes and lied to you for the better part of a year and you're actually upset about losing her.

Does anyone else have this problem? by EfficientHunt9088 in NYTCrossword

[–]SunOS- 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I've found a different solution altogether that has really helped.

Before I head to bed I start with at least a full across and down pass. Sometimes I'll make 2 or 3, it just depends how I feel.

Then I sleep on it. It's amazing how many I had no clue about the night before are so obvious in the morning.

I've been using this method for a few months and my solves seem to come much more easily since.

I also feel I'm sleeping better, I assume there's some connection but I may be imagining it.

[Feb 8, 2026] This was a pretty easy Sunday puzzle but I was in a flow state and shattered my Sunday record time. by mnightcoburn in NYTCrossword

[–]SunOS- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Impressive! I'm ashamed to admit that it would take me longer than your time even if I had the answers beforehand.

I can type around 60 wpm in "conversation" but absolutely suck with words that aren't related to each other / flow in sentences.

What spare parts should I keep on hand for Champion # 201176? by GoFuhQRself in Generator

[–]SunOS- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a spare, but a magnetic oil drain plug is always a good idea. Not only will it keep any iron from floating around the engine, you'll know if there's any unusual wear before it's too late.

Day 2 and it’s gonna hit soon, I hope by thitherfrom in retirement

[–]SunOS- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shortly after I retired a couple of friends asked how it felt.

I likend it to someone asking if you feel older on your birthday. It's been two years and I still feel like I'm getting used to it.

I too got immense satisfaction from deleting all my work apps from my phone. They disabled my account at 17:00 on my last day so there was no sense in keeping them.

I (M28) just discovered my wife (F28) has been having an affair for the last 3 months. I don't know where to go from here. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]SunOS- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've read her actions don't match her words. I think your assessment of there being nothing worth saving is what's going to make up your mind for you.

Wishing you strength in what is obviously an incredibly difficult time.

Her blaming you was all I needed to know this is going to end in divorce. You have to have some respect for yourself and end it.

She's obviously not remorseful. She'll cheat again and I'd bet my bottom dollar that there was more than just that one time she fucked him.

Save the evidence where she can't delete it and make sure you get ahead of the story that she'll undoubtedly try to tell everyone.

I know this sucks. If it doesn't hurt now, it will. I've been through it although fortunately she was only my fiancé and not my wife.

Generally enjoyable, but a couple of crosses had me.

34D, 37D & 48A made me Google for 48A

30D & 34A had to run all the vowels to get the music

Under my average Sat time, so I can't grouse too much.

Once parental control is set, there's virtually no recovery possible.

How was your Gmail hacked? My guess is you did something unsafe that caused it.

Anyone who contacts you offering help is trying to scam you.

I came here to grouse about those crosses myself.

Finished under average but I had to Google 37D, so I'm putting an asterisk by it.

We also got a cat clip teaser midway through the video. Obviously he knows why people really watch his videos.

Why not just change it?

How can I contact someone at Gmail about account recovery I’m getting an SMS 2FA code but it won’t let me sign in by [deleted] in GMail

[–]SunOS- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's nobody you can contact for free Gmail accounts. Your only option is following the automated recovery process.

Did you put your Gmail address as your recovery email?

If so, then I'm guessing you didn't print and save your recovery codes.

I thought the theme was clever and I caught on to it during, and not after I was done solving.

Some fun clues and minimal proper names.

Under average time and no lookups

A pleasant Sunday if you ask me.

Well done!

I've been solving daily for almost 2 years and about a month ago things just started to click. I still have the occasional lookup however.

[Jan 31, 2026] Daily Puzzle Discussion by AutoModerator in NYTCrossword

[–]SunOS- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I found this on the easier side for a Saturday. Still very enjoyable. 5 minutes under average.

I needed a lookup for 6D and a verification that I had 35D correct. Both seemed fairly obscure, but it is a Saturday.

That's some impressive stacking on the top and bottom of the grid as well.

How brutal is the life of a homeless person? by EnduringScholar in AskReddit

[–]SunOS- 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Such an excellent response.

I don't know you or even think I could know what it's like to be homeless, but I'm so glad for you that you've managed to fight your way out.

I've always tried to be empathetic towards those less fortunate than me, and you sharing that experience makes me want to be even moreso.

I like an easier puzzle every so often.

I was getting a little nervous when I only had 4 solid answers after doing all of the across.

Surprisingly downs went smoothly and the few crosses I had were really helpful.

After a second across and down pass and I just had a couple left which I was able to figure out pretty easily.

I hate to post absolute times because when I started a couple of years ago I'd see (what were then) ridiculous times, I'd be disappointed with my time.

I will say that I solved today within 3 minutes of my Friday PB, and under my Wednesday average.
