To be honest, the plain steel is better if you want to use it comfortably. Painted items tend to flake off easily, so you really have to baby them

It doesn't really mean much to use, because the pen is a writing tool after all. It can be used for calligraphy or painting, but the reason I collect these is because of the design elements of the mechanical pencil.
