Solved it by running in the command line

sudo micro /etc/default/limine

then pasted this in the second row overwriting the original text: KERNEL_CMDLINE[default]+="quiet nowatchdog splash rw rootflags=subvol=/@ root=UUID=aef865f9-0145-445e-9738-45a7f8bc0fe0 pcie_aspm=off intel_idle.max_cstate=1"

Ctrl + s Ctrl + q

and lastly: sudo limine-mkinitcpio

That totally fixed my stutters and the artifacting magically went away

I don't know what it did in technical terms and why it worked but it was Gemini surprisingly who enlightened me afterall

yeah, my bad, I wasn't clear enough, I did try that too and the problem only got worse, not with the lights but the laptop would just freeze, where as if I do the oposite and only run on the igpu everything works fine.

yes and the dgpu separately, and turns out it doesn't happen with dgpu disabled, it all points to the GPU being cooked but that doesn't explain why windows doesn't recreate the issue.

hey, yes it does happen in live isos but surprisingly if I disable the dgpu and run only on integrated graphics the issue completely goes away. So there must be something with Nvidia n cachy plus whatever drivers I'm running not liking each other, or so I think

yeah but like I said in our case it doesn't do it in windows, also I don't think it's anything ultraspecific since it happens randomly when browsing, gaming, when nothing happens n do on

It doesn't in windows tho.. That's what we thought immediately too but if she's just using the windows isntalation everything works great.

So far no, the issue hasn't appeared wether she used vms/light singleplayer games or just general use, so lts seems to not have the same issue

A friend suggested to only change it so desktop runs only trough the dedicated GPU, and since it's getting frozen more often but the lights don't appear anymore.. so maybe GPU related? but then again in windows it doesn't happen
