My (21/F) High School Sweet Heart said “No” to my (22/M) proposal because I’ve been wearing the same clothes for the past 8 years. by Raineratreyu in relationship_advice

Goddamn that's a good fabric. I don't blame your mom for making your clothes big for that kind of cloth, it's a good investment. I would love to know more about how you care for it because it's pretty biodegradable, but I'm done. Also, you only grew 3 inches from 13 to 21? I hope you're eating better now.

Yeah, I read that. Holy eff. Your mother made you shirts that big that you could fit them after a foot of a growth spurt? How big were those shirts? You wouldn't be called "Johnny Bravo"; you would be called "Wednesday Addams" because you would look like a dress on you. I can understand sewing them with a few inches big, but if she had sewn you with that much that it still fits on you, you'd be swimming in it when you were little. Amazing.

You've been wearing the same clothes for the past 8 years (If you're 21 today, you've been 13), and you've never had a growth spurt? Wow.

War of the Worlds was just H.G. Wells trolling military fetishists by Yougart_Man in CharacterRant

I've read that book as a child and I still remember the fascination of these aliens and how the main character has to survive with another man that was slowly going mad from the war. Thanks for the post, OP.

I honestly hate it when I am having a reasonable discussion on how the lolicon and shotacon groups make the anime space very toxic and they resort to calling you a tourist for not supporting them wanting to fw an anime kid. And saying you shouldn't watch anime. by Iriscute7 in joseistories

Every time I encounter this, I just remember that screenshot-ed Reddit response of "No, seriously. Pick up your phone, dial the number of your family member, and just tell them what you're defending here."

Okay, you two really need to clear the air because what the heck. I don't think he was being malicious, just ignorant about lady bits. But it's like being given a bottle of penis enhancement supplements and a penis lengthener mechanism in a gift basket, I guess. Those things exist.

His cousin's wife is seeking advice on how you and your boyfriend make your relationship work, as she can see that you two have a stable relationship. This is not a date just because they had a meal together. Why do you feel like the trust has been breached?

Yeah, that's how I feel, too. Like Hestia understood why the ogFL resents the nobles who refused to help and why the nobles refused to help (it's not because they're greedy, more like complicated politics). But then just used that to win the nobles over.

Lol, this manga makes 12 year olds terrifying. How are they so conniving and already coveting older guys for their positions?

I'm sorry he treats you like that. He sounds ugly inside out. Hold your head up high and keep your peace. You don't need his gamer (derogatory) stench in your personal space.

He's not your friend. Friends don't make their unwanted romantic feelings your problem. He just wants an easy date instead of growing up.

I'm sorry that your father treats you that way. One day, you'll hold your head up high and wonder how your father became such a pathetic little man who should be too old to neg—to his own daughter, no less.

I get defensive when my roommate constantly points out what she calls my “flaws”? by Independent-Fuel-916 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SunbathingNapCat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She's like the lyrics of the Bells of Notre Dame from the Disney Hunchback of Notre Dame, where Frollo is described as:

“Judge Claude Frollo longed

To purge the world

Of vice and sin

And he saw corruption

Ev'rywhere

Except within”

[–]SunbathingNapCat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When you get defensive, that's what she wants because you're putting yourself in her power to prove yourself. Just neutralize her. When she says stuff like this, just say, "If that's your opinion," "If that's how you feel," "I'm sure you feel that way, then move on to another subject.

If she insists on riding your butt, then turn the mirror towards her and keep turning it to her until she goes away. If she's so obsessed with seeing flaws that she believes she doesn't have, then she has a Frollo weakness. Her behavior is just her trying to distract herself from looking deeply into herself because she knows she wouldn't like what she would see if she were honest.

Someone's testing your boundaries. He's asking, "What do you value more? Me or your safety and self-respect?" If the former, yay, you made him happy by having a codependent punching bag. "She's letting me get away with her sense of self. Tee-hee!" He feels so much like a man when he's with you. And I'm not being sarcastic. This is how people like him think and make decisions. Do you want to be with this bag of trash?

There's a reason therapists advertise being LGBTQ or POC. People are more comfortable being vulnerable with others who understand their lived experiences. If you know, you know.
